What do leaders of different security communities talk about when they meet in person? Among other things, spice levels BRO!!!! 🤯 I met Dhillon Kannabhiran for breakfast. He is the OG of Hack In The Box conferences. It was a great meeting of minds. We both agreed that the concept of security communities has forever changed post covid. Nowadays everyone has access to the world's best education on YouTube and they think they don't need local communities to learn and grow together. This is amazing at many levels. But the truth is something gets missed with online only interactions. Like meeting for an early morning breakfast and discovering podi idli is spicy for some 🌶️🥵 Human connections are not necessarily effecient. They aren't always logical. But they are magical. Especially in this day and age where pundits are shouting about how AI will take over and how humans may get replaced in jobs etc. the human connection is key. The discussions ranged from hardware security bypasses to how someone thought about working in a new company and the same company offered them a dream role! How someone came back from a spiritual journey but it was worth the sleepless nights! Online events are all about fixed agendas, getting your point across and what gets missed is serendipity and general casualness. Like this post is meandering. Not necessarily going towards making a specific point. But seriously spice levels BRO!!! Thanks to Aseem Jakhar for connecting a bunch of us in Bangalore with Dhilon. cc ` Mr-IoT ` Jayesh Singh Chauhan Sunita Sharma Saqeeb #community

1moHuman connections, offline meets, and networking will always rule the roost. Reason: In the world of AI perfection -- it is the human IMPERFECTIONS that connect with the audience and the users. Despite artificial intelligence gaining momentum, people tend to steer toward Natural Stupidity because that's what makes them human.
