We love all the characters we represent, but it's true that some of them are real divas! 💅 Some of the fictional stars in our roster are huge names in the entertainment industry and pop culture, and with great fame come great creative restrictions at times. These characters are in very high demand and are more selective in terms the opportunities and brands they choose to work with. We encourage producers to bring us in the process as early as possible, as we know characters very well and can quickly let you know whether the creative is feasible or not. #tuesdaytip #licensing #advertising

Seeing Liquid Death make headlines by turning its cartons into ad space for companies that can’t afford a Superbowl ad, reminded me of the other greats. Like a streaker who has sprinted across the playing field, they’ve caught everyone off guard and grabbed everyone’s attention. For me, one of the best was Skittles. You just never knew what that rainbow was going to do. One year, they created an entire Broadway musical you could go watch during the Superbowl. One of their songs was “Advertising Ruins Everything.” Another year, they created a Superbowl ad for only one person. And all everyone else got to see was that person describing the ad they’d just seen. If I remember correctly, David Schwimmer was in that ad, which makes this year, the second Superbowl ad he’s been in. Volvo is the other one that still stands out for me. They turned every competitor’s car ad during the Superbowl into their own. If you tweeted #volvo whenever a car ad appeared, you could win a Volvo. I haven’t googled any of these, so I couldn’t tell you their earned media, how many logos appear in their case study, or even what year they appeared. But they are the Superbowl streakers that are still running around in my head. Which are yours? #superbowl #advertising #marketing
