This week, had a chance to talk to furniture retail expert Miguel Correia about how retail changed after the pandemic and how he sees 2025 for the industry. Before COVID-19, most businesses were all about offline sales. But when the pandemic hit, companies had to think about how to survive, and the biggest game-changer was online shopping. Many big companies weren’t ready for it. But for those who were — it was a massive opportunity. Miguel's company saw sales jump by 400%. Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. New competitors popped up, and the market became tougher. Now, as sales slowly return to pre-COVID levels, it's undeniable that customer delivery matters more than ever. For them, optimizing logistics — like centralizing deliveries — helped achieve 48-hour delivery with ease. Looking to the future, here’s what he thinks every furniture store needs in 2025: - 3D tools, so customers can picture furniture in their space. - High-quality images, because no one likes surprises, especially when choosing fabrics. - Fast delivery.
