Your main tasks will be: Compiling and maintaining a document structure describing requirements; Describing system functional/non-functional requirements, collaborating with internal teams (CEO, design team, development team) as stakeholders; Creating and maintaining a unified glossary of terms describing our domains and domain objects. We expect from you: Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication is essential for gathering requirements effectively. This includes active listening, articulating ideas, and facilitating discussions with stakeholders; Documentation Skills: Proficiency in documenting requirements in a structured and organized manner; Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze gathered information to identify patterns, dependencies, and potential conflicts in requirements; Problem-Solving Skills: Aptitude to identify problems, propose solutions, and make recommendations based on the gathered requirements; Writing Skills: Strong writing skills are crucial for documenting requirements clearly, accurately, and comprehensively. Generalist Verses Specialist Are you a Business Analyst who wonders if it's better to specialize or be a generalist? Here's the thing...(while I realise that this is an unpopular sentiment amongst my wonderful business analysis community)-in reality EVERY hiring manager asks for specific, which I need to match up with a candidate profile. For example, the hiring manager will request on a job briefing: "must have prior experience working on MS dynamics", "must have experience on infrastructure projects" or "must have experience writing RFPs in a government organization"...you get the gist This is totally in conflict to what most business analysts argue: that their business analyst skills are transferrable. For me, it makes sense to specialise and to demonstrate this clearly in your resumé to maximise the chances of securing the role. What do you think?
