There are a few things that (only midly) irritate me… When someone gets asked their age and they say for example “26, 27 in August” 🤷🏻♂️ Or when someone has clearly had a few drinks the night before and without even asking they say “I’m not hungover, I’m just tired” 🤦🏻♂️ And then the overusage of “hope you’re well” ‼️ It seems the second best right back* in Bury, Gary Neville, was in agreement after his video last week (will link in the comments). Literally everyone uses it! By not saying it or using a variation you’re probably standing out straight away. And in the world of sales, for prospects or people you haven’t spoken to before, I definitely wouldnt be using it at all. However, I get why we use it especially with known contacts as it just forms part of our usual greeting. So here’s a few variations that you could probably try and use instead: ➡️ “How’re things?” ➡️ “How was [insert something you know they did recently] ➡️ “Good weekend?” ➡️ “Hope you’re having a good end to the month” And lastly sometimes it’s ok to not say anything at all Maybe this isn’t something people even care about but either way; I hope this LinkedIn post finds you well… *the best right back in Bury pictured holding the trophy below (back in 2009!) #sales #prospecting #SDR

Mondays are the day to be "dumb guy." Whaaa?? One of my all time favorite prospecting strategies is fittingly called Smart Guy Dumb Guy. Full credit for this nugget goes to the illustrious Jeff Schneider many moons ago. It's a bit irreverent but easy to remember. Effective and efficient prospecting entails two personas... Smart Guy (or Smart Person...) makes the plan for the coming week the Friday prior. The focus, priorities, targets and schedule are built out by Smart Guy. Dumb Guy (again, or Dumb Person) executes the plan that Smart Guy already put together. It was a smart plan, so don't overthink it, just do it. Trying to be smart all the time can lead to procrastination, shiny objects and running in circles with little to show for it. #salestips #salescoaching #prospectingtips

Most VP Sales outbound advice sucks. → They haven't done outbound in years. → They're running off a 2004 playbook. → They aren't very good at it anymore. So when they're giving you advice, consider the fact your prospects are buying differently now. Times have changed. It's 2024, not 2004. Rather than asking your VP Sales; 'how can I book more meetings?' And then trying to implement their 2004 advice based on what worked for them. Find someone on the frontline who is doing it really well. Copy them and 3x their inputs until you get good. PS.
