A survey released by the World Economic Forum in April 2020 shows that education has changed dramatically, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. 📚 Inspired by the dramatic shift towards e-learning, I created a platform designed to make online education more accessible, enjoyable, and effective for students. About the app: "Teachgram" is designed in a way that is similar to “Instagram”, an app that is widely used and quiet popular among the youngsters as well as adults. The idea was to create a design that saves students from the mundanity of daily online class routine. Bridging the gap between digital learning and engagement the app offers you a unique blend of all the functionalities and the right amount of fun you require to manage your online education. 💡 Here are some of the accessibility guidelines we are taking in consideration while designing a reading app for dyslexic students: 1. Typography for Readability: Using dyslexia-friendly fonts (Arial, Open Sans) with appropriate sizing (12-14pt) and letter spacing ensures clarity. Avoid underlining and italics, as they can blur the text. 2. Layout and Structure: Simple, left-aligned text without justification makes reading easier. Avoid multiple columns and use clear, bolded headings 20% larger than the body text for easy navigation. 3. Color and Contrast: Instead of stark white backgrounds, we plan to use soft pastels, avoiding colors like red and green to accommodate colorblind users. Maintaining strong contrast between text and background was essential. 4. Multimodal Learning: Dyslexic students benefit from diverse instructional methods—pictures, audio, and text integration ensure the material is engaging and digestible. 5. Gamification: Integrating game elements (points, badges, challenges) in the app motivates users, creating a fun and educational experience. We plan to use dynamic feedback loops and scaffolded onboarding to encourage skill progression. I’d love to hear how you’re making your digital experiences more inclusive! Let’s connect and share ideas. #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #UXDesign #Dyslexia #DesignForAll #UIUX #UserExperience #UserResearch #WCAG #EmpathyInDesign

Digital platforms often use sophisticated design techniques to keep children engaged, from infinite scrolling to bright, attention-grabbing visuals. These strategies, while effective at capturing interest, raise concerns about screen time and the potential for distraction from learning. https://hubs.la/Q02RYrdQ0 #DigitalDesign #EdTech #ScreenTime #StudentEngagement

Honesty moment, do we really design with accessibility in mind? 🤔 I'm currently enrolled in a certification course through Coursera, and the first task involved peer evaluation, as is common on the platform. One of the tasks assigned to me for review was an app related to health 💗 , targeting people with reading difficulties or disabilities. It was inspiring to see such projects in a certification course, and it got me thinking on the essential features we need to consider when designing accessible platforms. Features like reader compatibility, alternative image text, color schemes, font size and style, accessible forms, and keyboard navigation are crucial for ensuring inclusivity in digital experiences. But are there other features or considerations that are important or that we can use for designing accessible platforms? And do everyday we really design with these considerations in mind? Or is it only when requested? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. Let's continue the conversation on designing inclusive and accessible digital experiences together! #AccessibilityInDesign #InclusiveDesign #UXDesign

Designing with purpose, blending bold innovation with timeless aesthetics. UI/UX Designer on a creative journey.
Here are a few quick overviews of my experience designing this modern online school interface, that I've recently finished designing🪄 COLOUR THEME 🎨 For this design, I chose a gradient background transitioning from pink to yellow. This vibrant yet soothing palette aims to create a welcoming and lively atmosphere, reflecting the fun and dynamic nature of online learning. INSPIRATION 🌟 The inspiration behind this design comes from the idea of making education more accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages. I wanted to create a platform that not only facilitates learning but also inspires curiosity and a love for knowledge. CHALLENGES🤔 One of the main challenges was ensuring that the platform was intuitive and user-friendly for students across different age groups. Balancing simplicity with functionality required careful planning and testing. Another challenge was creating engaging content that could cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students. Ensuring the visuals were inclusive and representative of all students was also a crucial aspect that took considerable effort. TARGETED USERS🎯 This platform is designed for students from elementary school to high school. By offering tailored content and features for different age groups, we ensure that every student has a personalized and enriching learning experience. #UIUX #WebDesign #OnlineLearning #EducationalTechnology #GraphicDesign
