👩💻 In our continuous pursuit of knowledge to keep us updated and relevant to the social sector, we had the opportunity to discuss the art of fundraising in our learning circle.
💭 We started by listening to Kara Logan Berlin, Founder and CEO of Harvest talk about changing our relationships with money and succeeding in fundraising for NGOs. The talk helped us ruminate about facilitating fundraising for NGOs successfully while keeping corporate needs intact.

💡 One of our key takeaways from the discussion was that "Fundraising is relational, not transactional". While the transaction of money is the ultimate goal of fundraising, the relationship between the fundraisers, donors and other stakeholders is pivotal in leading towards that goal.
💡 The relationship between a donor and a grantee begins with successful fundraising, influencing and impacting the decisions made by both parties, thereby creating a larger impact on the ground. Hence, relationship building between the donor and fundraiser is paramount, not just for fundraising but for creating meaningful impact at the grassroots.

Climb 4 Climate is far more than a fund raising trek for ecological restoration in the Western Ghats.
It is about realising how fragile we have made our environment and how critical it has become now to take an active role in nurturing it.
It is about realising that Climate Change is already inside the door and each and every one of us needs to take an active role in reversing it.
It is about realising that this is not a problem that someone else will solve, but, all of us have to be part of the solution.
It is about inclusiveness and engaging everyone as we go along.
It is about creating stewardship and leadership among local communities to nurture the young forests that we are creating.
It is about celebrating the grasses, the insects, the birds, the reptiles, the mammals and realising how privileged we are to be part of the complex web of life on Earth.
... and above all, it is about making choices that heal the Earth !

Presenting to AFC Wimbledon’s men’s first team and staff about Dons Local Action Group’s work in the community and how they can get involved, felt like it might be a tough gig - but boy was I wrong! Everyone was really welcoming and engaged, and keen to continue the amazing work of this community club ⭐️
Players and staff members approached me about getting involved with volunteering and with suggestions for others ways they can support DLAG and raise awareness. I can’t wait to see the impact they will have this season - on and off the pitch ⚽️
During the afternoon, I also got to hear about the great work of other organisations connected to the club such as AFC Wimbledon Foundation, Women of Wimbledon Supporters Association and Wimbledon in Sporting History.
It was a joy to speak about the charity I love with people from the club I love. Thank you for having me along 💛💙
