🎨 MONØL1TE — An Artwork of Resilience and Rebirth 🌟 Months ago, with enthusiasm we announced the selection of kobose for the “Storm Grant” that hit Milan exactly one year ago, on July 24 and 25. From that sad event, a call, an initiative was born to raise awareness about climate change and bring art to the public by repurposing the wood from fallen trees. Now, after months of work recovering the trunks, preliminary transformations, and patiently waiting for the minimum drying time to give a purpose to these noble materials, we are finally in the final stages. The MONØL1TE artifact is ready, the documentary is in progress, and we are finalizing the brand, website, press release, and informational materials for the official presentation that will take place at the Milan Green Week in September (26-29). A project that will involve many parks in the city, thus giving new life to the fallen. Thanks to the Milan Councillor for Environment and Green Spaces, Elena Grandi, and her team, for believing in this project and for their commitment to bringing art and rebirth to the parks of our city. This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable operational and technical support of Umberto Villa and the entire Villa Scale team, who have worked tirelessly to make MONØL1TE a tangible reality. Not to mention our wealth of knowledge and discovery (from essences to people) acquired during the time spent in the carpentry, which is worth as much as a centuries-old oak. 🎨 MONØL1TE — Un’Opera di Resilienza e Rinascita 🌟 Mesi fa, con l’entusiasmo di un bambino che scopre il gelato, annunciavo la selezione di kobose per il “Bando del Nubifragio” che colpì Milano proprio un anno fa, il 24 e 25 luglio. Da quel triste evento, è nata un’iniziativa per sensibilizzare sul cambiamento climatico e portare arte al pubblico, riqualificando il legname degli alberi abbattuti. Ora dopo mesi di lavoro tra il recupero dei tronchi, trasformazioni preliminari, la paziente attesa per l’essiccazione minima per poter dare uno scopo a questi nobili materiali, ora siamo finalmente alle fasi finali. L’artefatto MONØL1TE è pronto, il documentario è in lavorazione e stiamo ultimando brand, sito, press release e materiali informativi per la presentazione ufficiale che avverrà alla Milano Green Week di settembre (26-29). Il progetto del bando coinvolgerà molti parchi della città, tanti quanti sono gli artisti selezionati, dando così una nuova vita ai caduti. Grazie all’Assessora all’Ambiente e Verde di Milano, Elena Grandi, e al suo team, per aver creduto in questo progetto e per il loro impegno a portare arte e rinascita nei parchi della nostra città. Questa realizzazione non sarebbe stata possibile senza l’inestimabile supporto operativo e tecnico di Umberto Villa e di tutta la squadra di Villa Scale che hanno lavorato instancabilmente per rendere MONØL1TE una realtà tangibile. Senza contare il mio bagaglio di conoscenza e scoperta (dalle essenze alle persone) acquisito nel tempo trascorso in falegnameria che vale quanto una quercia secolare.
