“Make them like you as a person” I heard this advice when I first stepped into an established tech team as a leader, and I’ve held onto it ever since. So, how can you make it work? Here are 3 key steps to effective team integration: ✅ Regular 1:1 meetings ✅ Addressing senior developers correctly ✅ Proving your value, and not vice versa Understand what the team is doing before making any moves. Ask them what's working, what isn’t, and what support they need from you as their tech lead. Invite senior developers on any and all topics to be broached. The worst mistake you can make is pushing for changes just because "that's how I do things." This is a fast track to alienation. In the first few months, your main goal should be to show how your leadership benefits them—only then will you earn their respect and loyalty. I'm going to DevCom with my research project "Facilitating Game Production"🥳 I'll be live on Stage 7 (Confex Lvl-2) on the August 20th at 12:30 to 1:30 pm. 🗣 There are a lot of indications that the growing scale and complexity of game productions are increasing the need for qualified mid-tier leadership. ❓ How can we best prepare and stregthen the skills and competencies of those who lead game productions and improve their effectiveness in doing so? 💡 The insights based in my talk are base on industry interviews and surveys, and ill be : - Mapping roles, primary responsibilities and backgrounds of mid-tier leaders. - Analyzing the tasks and associated skills in production facilitation. - Investigating the percieved challenges of production environments. 📅 I'll also be attending the rest of #Gamescom2024 with Game Hub Denmark and the Danish Delegation, so come say 'hi' in Hall 4.1 Booth A013.

The #metaverse is changing the way we work, and with it comes the need to change our leadership. One of the key #LeadershipSkills of the future will be authenticity. In a virtual world where you can customise your avatar to your heart’s content, employees will crave #authenticity. Everything you do will need to be genuine and honest. For example, even if your avatar looks nothing like you, it still needs to be aligned with your identity in some way. The best way to achieve this is to be consistent. Whilst your #leadership skills and style may vary, our identity as a leader needs to remain consistent across reality and #VirtualReality.
