To every company currently recruiting, if your job postings are listed as 'Remote', and a candidate opens it up and it says 'Remote at first, then in office' or 'This is a hybrid role', or my favorite 'Must live within 30 miles', you're not fooling anyone... I don't know what lingo they're using nowadays within your industry bubble, but in the real world, we call this 'Lying'. If the candidate's very first impression of your company is that you're willing to be blatantly dishonest, there's no way any qualified or intelligent candidate is going to want to work at your company. Your company has 0 ethics or morals and you've proven that within the first few sentences. You've already shown them from the get go that you're willing to lie to candidates and probably are even worse to employees, so you can't be trusted. If the position isn't fully remote, then don't list it as such, be honest. #wfh #remoteopportunities #remotejob #job #remote #recruiting #recruitment #job #jobfinding #jobhunt #jobseeker #linkedIn #post #targetaudience #feed #post

You know what is getting kind of old? Job posting listed as "Remote" that are actually Hybrid. As someone who's job it is to be detail-oriented and efficient with my time, this erks me to the max. It is a waste of time for the recruiter that has to wade through the applicants, most of which won't be local, and it's a waste of time for the applicant AND probably another unnecessary rejection. Stop it! If it is a tactic, it's wrong and if it is a mistake, be better. Take the time to post the correct information - proof read your postings, what you expect from applicants you should expect from yourself, and it will save you both time and frustration.

#jobseekers ... especially those looking for #remote roles, I'm about to put you on some game. 🚫Quit scouring the job boards looking for remote roles. Instead, go after the companies that are REMOTE FIRST! Easy peasy, plug in 'remote first', or 'virtual first' into Google and start to craft your list of target companies. 1. Check out their career sites to see what is open. 2. Not seeing anything? Next then we'll create a job alert or join their talent network. 3. Start to build a network of folks from that company (this can be peers, recruiters that recruit in your space, and/or hiring managers). 4. Send a brief connection request message to those folks expressing interest in the company and why you'd like to work there while promoting your experience. Include 3 bullet points → 👉🏻Yearsof experience in the industry and role 👉🏻Two achievements and skills that correlate to the company and position you are targeting. 🤩Bonus points if you tie in a recent company achievement or something that resonated with you on one of their recent posts or activity in your message. Add some personality! 5. No response, that's ok. Send a follow up to build momentum. 6. Rinse and repeat. Remember the KISS method when connecting -- Keep It Simple ... Let's make this job search a bit easier. You got this 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 #jobseekersupport #remotefirstjobs #virtualfirstjobs

What's one thing you can do to get more responses during your job search? Many of you will not like to hear this, but one way to decrease competition in your #jobsearch is to apply to roles that are not #remote nor #hybrid. The latest edition of State of the Labor Market from LinkedIn's Economic Graph (read here: https://lnkd.in/d6xxuPJk) found that nearly 3 in 5 job applications in the U.S. go to ads for roles that are hybrid and remote. Yet, these jobs only make up 1 in 5 of all postings. The numbers are even more bleak when you just look at remote roles. ➡️ If you're willing to be flexible on where you work, opening your search to in-office roles or jobs that take place in physical workplaces can unlock more opportunities and decrease your competition. ❓ What type of roles are you looking for? Are you willing to be flexible about where you work?

Why do some jobs appear to be remote, but actually arent? It's a trend I've been seeing more often lately. What I've noticed: 🔴 Some job boards will list jobs as remote, when in reality they're hybrid or even onsite 🔴 Job boards like LI aim to improve their engagement metrics, which they then turn around and use to sell services to recruiters 🔴 Some recruiters purposely list jobs as "remote" to get more applicants. To be 100% sure you're applying to a remote job you see on a job board, go to the company's website and view it there. If the company has provided a job ID # on the board, use it to look up that exact same job on the website. Then you'll know for sure if it's actually remote, hybrid, or onsite. --- Found this post useful? I see many people getting stressed by the large number of applicants on LinkedIn. However, there are things you may not know that can change the way you apply! ↓↓↓ 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣...What's behind the numbers? 🔹 Applicant numbers can include 'Apply' clicks even if you never finished your application 🔹 Applicants from countries where the company is not hiring (which can range from 10-50% depending on the job posting). Recruiters even have the option to automatically archive out-of-country applicants to save time on review! 🔹 Remote jobs attract a larger pool of applicants from various locations, however 'remote' doesn't always mean remote from any location in the world (I wrote an article about it). 🔹 Jobs can be reposted, and in this case, the old applicants' numbers are also shown. 🔹 Some people who do not qualify for the job apply anyway. Often, there's a mismatch in years of experience, job level, or industry experience required, etc. 🔹 A single candidate can apply for a job multiple times... And probably there are things I missed on the list. 💡 What does this mean for you? ✅ If you qualify for the job - APPLY! 🚀 The real competition is much less than it looks. #apply #remote #talentacquisition #recruitment #jobs #linkedinjobs #hiring #applicants #jobads #praca #recruiter #recruit #interview #interviews

More time wasted applying to mislabeled jobs 😠 This is why we vet remote jobs before going on our job board. There is still too much of this happening where things are mislabeled on purpose to try and attract talent. The "bait and switch" strategy can't actually be working well for companies.
