In a world plagued by violent armed conflicts, developing a culture of peace remains ideal in our quest for sustainable peace and development. The culture of peace is a philosophy, a world view, belief, an attitude, tradition, lifestyle and practice that opts for non violence means to resolving problems (conflicts). It is the quest for a society in which #justice, human rights and the rule of law prevails. On this day of the International Day of Peace, I add my voice to that of Peace Lovers all over the world, to advocate for the practice of Peacebuilding virtues, the backbone of the culture of peace. That is, let's practice: -#Love -#Tolerance -#Respect -#Acceptance and -#Recognition. Again Happy International Day of Peace!!!🥰🥰🥰

On this Peace Day, with the theme of Cultivating a Culture of Peace, I emphasize that the best way to do this is by creating peaceful environments at home, in schools, in our communities and everywhere. Children learn from what they experience, and learning peace values from early age promotes a culture of peace. Happy Peace Day!

The approaching anniversary of October 7th brings a solemn reminder of the ongoing pain and loss experienced by the global community. The reverberations of that day continue to bring more communities and people into an expanding conflict. As we know from the Peacemakers in Action Network, even in the midst of war, there are people and organizations in active conflict zones that continue their work to foster lasting peace and dialogue across differences. They rarely make headlines, but their works for peace ring loud, and Tanenbaum amplifies their call. Below are resources to foster respect across communities and support each other in times of crisis. While the future is uncertain, we know there are people and organizations who hold a vision for communities of mutual respect. Together, we can, and we must see beyond conflict to create the conditions for a collective and lasting peace. We invite you to check out our resource which includes a non-exhaustive list of organizations bravely promoting dialogue and support for those affected by this ongoing conflict. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dUqybMmM
