Marcos Angelides, managing director at media agency Spark Foundry, highlights a study that found people who have unique sounding names are often perceived to be more creative. "[Film] directors in China with unique names were found to have consistently higher scores for their movies," he notes. "But there is a downside. While people with unusual names are perceived to be more creative, they're also assumed to be less likeable." Have you observed any patterns among colleagues who have unique names? Is it the company's culture, the role itself, or the benefits? Knowing this will streamline your search. ✔️ **Research Companies:** Find out which companies align with your values and career goals. Use websites like Glassdoor or LinkedIn to read employee reviews and get a sense of the company's work environment. ✔️ **Tailor Your CV:** Make sure your CV highlights your skills and experiences that are most relevant to the job you're applying for. A targeted CV stands out more than a generic one. ✔️ **Network:** Leverage LinkedIn to connect with industry professionals. Attend job fairs, webinars, and local meetups to expand your network. Sometimes, it's not what you know but who you know! ✔️ **Prepare for Interviews:** Practise common interview questions and answers.
