I was discussing with Brendan Morris モリスseveral topics while we had coffee today in Makati. When we are in an economic upturn, it’s a good time to prioritise the following areas to retool your team and one of them would be to get faster access to readily available candidates. Which we can offer. The next topic was about who we knew in the market and in particular the Japanese recruitment scene. Some good stories there and great for networking! We also talked about our soft spot for the Philippines and how Brendan has just got back from Bohol! As some of you know my favourite place in the Philippines;) Glad to have met today even if its the weekend. Always be networking and connecting those dots! #networking #japanesemarket #rposervices #outsourcingservices #recruitmentnews

Corporate tax executive with global acumen. Recognized as a creative problem solver, a competent tax advisor ASC 740, a champion of change and an inspiring mentor. Lead with genuine empathy and follow with an open mind.
I was in our Seoul office on Monday. It was past 6:30pm. I noticed Wilson Lee, our APAC Lead Recruiter, was still in the office. I asked him when he would be going home. He responded " Many candidates are waiting for me to reply to their emails and I have to work". And I replied "So we are very busy with recruiting?" and then he replied "Oh yes, Li, many candidates wanted to work for Mocolo Korea". Then our conversation continued. Wilson mentioned that Moloco Korea's corporate culture is much preferred by many candidates. We have a bottom-up approach here. Candidates love to work for us because they have a voice here, they are being heard and their point of views are being considered or even adopted in the team working environment. Many companies in Korea still have a top-down approach and junior professionals are being told what to do and even how to do it and they don't like that. Moloco is lucky to have him as a leader in recruiting! Thanks to Angela Miller and Brendan Browne for finding Wilson for us! I am so glad to hear that Moloco Korea is known for its open-minded culture as this is not quite common for employers in Asia where authority and hierarchy domain the culture. At Moloco US and any other foreign locations, Molocans, guided by the People Team, are trying different ways to build a culture that is open-minded and welcoming. Personally, I am a big fan of supporting multi voices in a team. I ask my team what they think, how they want to do it or what they would recommend. Being a people manager, if we display a sign that we are not willing to open up to a different point of view, we start to lose connection with our team members. #MolocoOpenMindedCulture #WorkforMolocoKorea #MolocoCareer

About internationalisation in Finland. Something good, bad, and hopeful. 👇 Actors: Saku Tihveräinen – Finnish recruiter. Rekrygaala – annual event awarding best successes in the field of recruitment. Sequence of events: 1. Saku brings up that information about the competition is only in Finnish. 2. Rekrygaala takes notice. 3. Within 24 hours all info is available in English. Including a public apology from the organisers. The Good: 👍 1. Good practices, examples are out there to learn from. The Bad: 👎 1. Not everything can be changed in 24 hours. The Hopeful: 🕊️ 1. Some things are in Finnish just because it has been this way for decades, without any other hidden intent. 2. Sometimes for change to come, all it takes is to have one conversation. 3. When you want, you can make things happen. Let’s do more of that! 💪 Know any other good examples? 🤓 #immigrantEmployment #paveTheChange ----- Hi, I'm Vaida 👋 For Finland’s labour market and Human-Centric Hiring, Follow, connect, click 🔔

Entering the Japanese market is a unique challenge for many (dare I say most?) pharma/biotech companies looking to expand their businesses globally. Strict regulations & drug pricing policies aside, the dynamics of the talent market are different from most of the other major regions. Companies looking to establish an entity from scratch need candidates who not only have the technical skills/knowledge, but a proactive & flexible mindset which will allow them to navigate effectively in a startup environment. While this is hard enough on its own, the Japanese talent market has notoriously low mobility and low visibility of candidates. Many biotech companies that have had success through direct sourcing in other regions struggle in this one country because of this. Language barriers and time differences don't help either. I believe that local recruitment agencies with the requisite experience, knowledge, and the right service mindset can add a great deal of value to companies seeking both qualified candidates and guidance/consultation on entering the Japan market. Here at Realstaffing (brand of SThree K.K.), this is exactly what we are looking to do. Companies like Krystal Biotech are one of several companies that our Real Tokyo team and I have been able to successfully support with their market entry in the last few years. It has truly been a gratifying experience to be able to add value to companies who have wonderful products to bring to patients in need. At Real/SThree, we are striving to be Game-changers in STEM. In Japan, we are building a Pharma/Biotech team that is driven by good values and principles, with the aim of forging long-lasting partnerships - something that is key to this challenging market. If you are a firm that is eyeing Japan as a market to potentially establish an entity in, please feel free to reach out to me for a consultation call (j.iida@realstaffing.com). We would be happy to help. #gamechangersinstem
