Career Prospects Survey of IT Engineer in Japan According to the results of a survey conducted by the Career Design Center in Minato-ku, Tokyo, what do current IT engineers think about their own professional prospects? The most important goal to achieve over the next three years is "deepening technical skills" (40.6%), followed by "learning leadership and management skills" (22.3%) in second place and "learning new technical areas and disciplines" (20.9%) in third place. Regarding whether or not they want to continue working as engineers, the answers differ between the technical and management groups. While 71.0% of the technical group answered "yes", but more than 50.0% of the management group answered "no" and "don't know". In addition, when planning their careers, both technical and management groups ranked "difficulty keeping up with the latest technology trends" and "lack of opportunities to gain specialized skills and experience" as their top challenges. ——————————————————————————— Jellyfish is an IT specialist recruitment agency located in Shinagawa, Tokyo. 10x A few months ago, I had the #opportunity to join Intertek Ghana Limited, a reputable #oilandgas services company, to fulfill my 12-month service to the nation; working as an Administrative Assistant and marketer. It might be surprising to know the field I landed in for my service. My reason is simple: exploration. During our initiation gathering, the facilitator (HR - Rolandich Annan, AMABE, BBA) covered various relevant topics, providing insights into the organization's operations. Among the numerous things I noted, there's one that stands out: "#10x." With the "10x" philosophy, we are encouraged to thrive through the #workculture, a culture that propels everyone to bring on board their 10x energies to drive 10x performance.
