What is the most exciting thing you learned on your internship so far? The most exciting thing I’ve learned is how to draw blood. There’s a lot of techniques that came with it like making sure you don’t blow a vein or using the right tubes. I’m getting to the point where I can choose what tubes to use for what we are checking. I’m excited to learn more tricks on how to draw blood accurately.

Great question. A good intern is looking for opportunities to learn new skills and contribute to the projects that they are involved with. We like to talk about engineering being self-directed continuous learning, and interns that exhibit curiosity, that are unafraid of asking questions, and are willing to dig into a little research are going to excel. A good intern mentor and supervisor is planning ahead to identify those opportunities and "clear the deck" for intern participation. This might mean that productivity occasionally temporarily takes a back seat to creating enriching experiences, but that is absolutely a great investment in the long term for the intern and the company.

The difference between the starting point and the endpoint also applies to splinting. The contrast between the first splint I made during my initial rotation and the last two splints I created in my final rotation of my internship is remarkable. With this experience, I can confidently say that I have acquired skills in fabricating both static and dynamic splints. 👏🏽🤍

Some bts satisfactory moments during sample preparation: Throughout my internship, i had an emense enjoyable experience doing laboratory work. Though results can be unpredictable, how focus we are to meticulously measure the exact amount of sample on these balance 🤣 These 2 are some of the pictures that made my day during sample preparation ❤️ Ps: the weight im going for was precisely 0.2 grams, but it may vary slightly up to 0.21 grams
