What’s everyone’s take on why companies are reluctant to hire junior developers these days? Might be just the “bubbles” that I’m in but it feels like the barrier of entry is so much higher these days. #developer #juniordeveloper #frontend

Restoring web excellence with impactful design, copy, storytelling and dev - driving results and converting visitors into clients
Hiring front-end developers is hard... Most of people who hire them are back-end developers who have no idea what front-end even is... Here's how it goes: - CEO hires Designer for their billion dollar "idea" - Designer hires back-end developer - Back-end dev hires front-end based on how well they understand PHP And then CEO complains they have garbage outcome. No shit.

** Lead Developer , hands on coder ** I'm looking for a hybrid first attitude *(Oxford)*, excellent ability *(next.js)* to build next level UIs, and demonstrable experience in *JavaScript*. I would envisage 10 years+ JS/TS with wicked front end UI skills in next.js 😊 (did he really just say wicked)? *Compensation* - Basic salary up to c120k, ideally more like 90k to 100k but the budget is there for the right AAD. Ability, attitude, demonstrable experience. *Tenure* - Permanent role, permanent background. Fully hands on, mobile first with a react native product. Web skills mandatory with fantastic next.js skills. Stack is TypeScript (next.js, node.js, nest.js and AWS infra) We would want to see some demonstrable experience in those areas upon presentation stage to the client. *Client domain* - Stealth start up mode - Currently have 5 of our contractors working collaboratively on an already successful and scaling medical web app which helps people with eating disorders. All of the developers are very senior and very good developers. Stack is next.js, node.js, nest.js, AWS, react native. This role will be with a front end / UI focus. There could be a 2 year succession plan for the right individual to become CTO. This isn't a must. If you want to code, you can code. If you want to lead, you can lead. First and foremost, you must use your leadership skills to lead yourself. #nextjs #next.js #next #nextlevelUI #reactjs #react.js #react #serversiderendering #asynchronousprogramming #objectorientedprogramming #engineeringprinciples #ability #attitude #demonstrableexperience #AAD

🎖️JavaScript || Node || PHP || Relational & Non-Relational Databases 👨💻 Backend Developer at NotJustEvent Ltd 🌋 CEO & Co-Founder of Connecta.ng
🎯 A Surprising Insight from My Developer Journey 🎯 As a full-time backend engineer, you’d think that most of my compensation would come from backend work, right? But here’s the twist: I’ve often been paid more for my frontend gigs! 😅 It’s made me stop and reflect on why this might be. Is it because: The user experience is where businesses see immediate value? Frontend work creates that wow factor clients are after? Or is it just that React and other frontend frameworks are that hot right now? Don’t get me wrong—backend is complex, deeply technical, and the backbone of any solid application. But maybe frontend work feels more “tangible” since it's the part users directly interact with. What’s been your experience? Have you found that frontend work tends to be more financially rewarding, even if you're a backend expert? Let’s share some thoughts—I'd love to hear your take! 👇 #frontend #backend #developerlife #webdev #techcommunity #fullstack

As a developer, it's important to learn both front-end and back-end skills. This helps you stay up-to-date in a fast-changing industry, where the ability to work across the entire stack can set you apart from those who specialize in just one area. Adapting to these demands not only increases job opportunities but also helps in becoming a more versatile and effective developer.
