Learn more about Green HR or Sustainable HR by enrolling in HSE Group's Academy. HR considers economic and environmental effects in addition to social ones. How? Just choose a common task, such as hiring personnel. Usually, the only criteria we take into account are background (criminal records or not), experience, and competency. Nonetheless, we may also take into account the following criteria for Sustainable HR: - (1) Economic impact: employee productivity and background from the local community (2) Environmental impact: the travel time (for employees commuting from their home to the office or mill) - Greenhouse gas emissions HSE Group #GreenHR #sustainableHR #responsiblebusiness Notes: Pak Ari Tjahjanto, BSc (Hons), CPOD, CMA, SEA is an HR professional who engages in sustainable HR practices. ✨It was an honor to welcome participants of the coconut industry to the Sustainable Coconut Roundtable conference 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia.✨ The first of a new era where the industry takes the reign of their sustainability by forming the Sustainable Coconut Partnership to help the industry make their efforts scalable and meaningful and for the new members to start their sustainability journey. I was heartened to see increased commitments this year as we transitioned from a meeting series to a global platform. Here are some takeaways that stayed with me: 🤝 A Movement is launched and Market Transformation is visibly underway and the private sector is showing up with members progressively engaging their entire supply chains and planning on piloting the new charter’s assurance system in 2024 starting a profound movement. 🔄 Both expert discussion, research and field visits converge and confirm that the right incentives needed for farmers and local traders are often not about just “finance”, but enabling business “security” and “trust” that sustainability programmes will help secure increased livelihood and not just expose them in a context of very strong local competition and low level of formal and informal farmer group organization. 🌱Community based enterprises need to take the centre stage. Organizations that make their business and livelihoods out of making sustainable coconut projects work will be the strongest asset for real sustainability, and these organizations might not exist before the project start, project developers need to be creative and the next generation will be attentive to truly empowering business models. 🥥 We are not ahead of the curve! Pre competitive action is most welcome. As the membership grows, so our ability to create the enabling conditions for everyone towards sustainability! Both our new deforestation and tree age monitoring initiative, the industry alignment around the Sustainable Coconut Charter or our upcoming progressive and inclusive assurance system & information sharing system are attracting new members who are taking advantage of these tools and approaches to meet their sustainability goals. 🌏 We are seeing an increased number of projects supporting farmers: 2023 was a year for preparing change, and judging by the new opportunities and desires for impact projects, it is safe to say the future will be brighter! #coconutroundtable Sustainable Coconut Partnership #collaboration #sdgs #sustainableagriculture #sustainablesupplychains

At Senang Eco Services, our mission is to transform businesses and society to be more sustainable by creating fast, data-driven, fun, and prosperous innovation. With this purpose at heart, we are thrilled to partner with WWF Indonesia on the Sustainability Action Plan for the Hotel Restaurant and Catering/Cafe (HoReCa) and Manufacturing Industry in Bali - a project that exemplifies our commitment to these values 🌍 Our project, “Strengthening Collaborative Actions in Consumption & Production”, is designed to foster inclusive coordination among various actors, encouraging the adoption of responsible consumption and production principles. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 12, focusing on the sustainable use of palm oil, a critical issue in our efforts to drive meaningful change 🌴 By implementing the Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) and conducting targeted workshops, we aim to transform business practices in participating companies, particularly those that are key users of palm oil products. These training sessions are expected to introduce and enhance their understanding of sustainability across vital areas such as energy use, water management, community engagement, and waste management ♻️ Through this collaborative mission, we guide businesses towards integrating sustainable commodities into their core practices, fostering a future where environmental and industry progress go hand in hand. We are excited to be part of this transformative journey and look forward to the positive impact these initiatives will have on both the environment and the industry 🤝🏼🚀 #sustainablebusiness #sustainability #startup #consulting #SDGs #ESG #Bali #Denpasar #Indonesia #WWFIndonesia #horeca

I am honored to have been invited by PUSAKA RASA NUSANTARA FOUNDATION, an NGO supported by the American Embassy, to participate in an inspiring project dedicated to preserving traditional recipes from across Indonesia. This initiative also aligns with safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage. The project has been an enriching experience, focusing on networking and sharing valuable insights. We explored how environmental changes, such as climate change, are altering cultural practices and recipes. For instance, shifting climates have impacted the availability of certain ingredients, leading to adaptations in traditional dishes. One fascinating aspect we examined is the Wallace Line, which distinctly separates Indonesian culinary traditions. The diverse and different recipes on either side of this line highlight the rich cultural and ecological diversity of our nation. As a culmination of this journey, the project’s findings have been compiled into four comprehensive books, which include traditional recipes and their cultural contexts. It’s been a privilege to contribute to and learn from this initiative, ensuring our rich culinary heritage is preserved for future generations. #CulturalHeritage #TraditionalRecipes #Indonesia #ClimateChange #WallaceLine #Networking

Indonesia - named the most beautiful country in the world, has already made moves to shift our capital city from Jakarta to Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan. Very wealthy in natural resources (oil and gas), but even wealthier in the spirit of sustainable circular economy, urban planning and development for social equity - Nusantara aspires to build a unique, world-class, smart city while continuously maintaining Indonesia's national symbol of 'Unity in Diversity' (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika). Located to the right of "Equator City", Pontianak which coincidentally, happens to be where my Taiwanese ancestors made their living through farming food and celebrating 'Chap Go Meh', a vibrant new year festivity I had witnessed in person. East Kalimantan region has a low population density (30 persons/km2) which means this spatial distribution gives room for niche projects specifically for the green & blue economy sectors. Nusantara (IKN) will be the pioneering zero-carbon capital city, with a strong circular economy, offering fair economic opportunity for every resident, high-tech logistics cargo systems such as "Sky Taxi E Hang 216" (YES, an aero vehicle, exactly what you had imagined - pictured below), with advanced public road planning, transportation system and unique infrastructures. What are your benefits to invest? 1) For investors in the green economy sector - zero taxes will be applied by the central government. 2) Small to medium business - zero taxes applied by the central government. 3) For employees - zero taxes applied by the central government. Source: https://lnkd.in/gHidqCz5 Nusantara (IKN) already has the following developments ongoing: - Pakuwon Group Superblock Project - VVIP Airport and Nusantara International Airport. - Mayapada Hospital - Nusantara Intercultural School - Bank of Indonesia and several others. If you are interested in learning more about Indonesia, discussing about value chain, circular economy, or Nusantara's (IKN) ongoing capital city development, message me. Programme Officer at Raoul Wallenberg Institute | Anthropology of Development, Stakeholder Engagement
With less than three months before Indonesia commemorates its 79th anniversary of independence in the newly built capital, Nusantara, it's interesting to see how the government uses contrasting narratives internationally and domestically to justify this relocation. Is Nusantara the world's largest climate-related planned relocation? Or is this simply state-backed greenwashing, using climate concerns to justify a USD 35 billion mega-project? 🌱🏗️ Dive deeper into the issue by reading my latest The Jakarta Post article here: https://lnkd.in/g_ySuxYZ #IKN #Nusantara #plannedrelocation #climatechange #climatemigration
