Time to reflect upon the Japan Mobility Show, which ended last Sunday. Before the event, I was quite sure we are witnessing the end of the "motor show" era, with many large-scale automobile exhibitions around the world struggling to attract visitors. With many manufacturers switching to the tech-oriented CES or switching to pop-up events for a better share of voice, I was not quite sure what to expect. The numbers, however, speak for themselves. Not only did over 1.1 million visitors attend the Japan Mobility Show in general, but the reaction was overwhelmingly positive. With over 60.000 visitors on one day (triple of the previous record), the ISUZU Group booth was running at its maximum capacity. Waiting time topped one hour to sit inside a truck, most merchandise was sold out and we clocked 1400% more visitors to our special page than last time. For the first time, ISUZU and UD Trucks combined their booth as ISUZU Group, requiring more coordination but also opening up new synergies. Another innovation was hiring non-Japanese as well as male both attendants, dressed in unisex and sustainable uniforms to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and sustainability. All contents were bilingual as it should be for a global group. We also challenged the "open booth" standard by enclosing the booth and immersing visitors in our world. We were also the first commercial vehicle brand to welcome visitors with banners in the entrance hall. Lots of innovations and efforts, but they all were worthwhile! All in all, it looks like there is still plenty of love out there for cars in general, but definitely also for commercial vehicles, which should give everyone in the industry confidence to power on. Would the displays be moved around the markets to showcase to the customers?
Add to that: there was only ONE bus I have seen at this MOBILITY show ant it was at the Isuzu booth.
Congratulations!
Way to go Konstantin, and well done! Congratulations!
