“haan malum. Mummy mat bannnn! Ok Mom. Ya fine moooommmm!” We must have used these terms somewhere or heard them from our friends, brother, sister, colleague, chacha ki ladki, bhua ka ladka, gully cricket mein jiski bat woh wale bhaiyya, and the whole world but.....Mom That’s it! That was our insight, or observation as i prefer to call it. Our idea for Classplus for Mother’s Day 2022 - thanking the pseudo moms! Who said Mother's Day hai toh mom hi batana hai? Rona dhona hi karna hai? I called up Garima and said brooo! This is it! We gonna show people talking about their moms and when the crescendo happens, we reveal that it is not their real moms but the chosen ones from work and various walks of life jo mummy se kum nahi hai... And we made it all in-house with no fancy things and no heavy budgets But, just because it was not the Z, S, Ns of the world, it didn't get the right attention.. It is not that I don't like them. I love them and consume their stuff now and then. I instantly go into imposter syndrome after seeing their work and starts thinking, “Yaarrrrr yeh maine kyun nahi socha?” But maybe we should start seeing other brands as well! Because as they say, ideas can come from anywhere. But as a creative / marketing professional, are we really seeing top, down, left, right? I think not What Farmley did with "We Don't Have The T20 League Campaign" was super cool stuff IMO. it was on spot and they turned the conversation very smartly. And I’m glad it became one of the hottest talk of the town. It was a genuinely smart idea IMHO. That’s how you do it and that’s why we gotta see everywhere. I mean even after soo many fallbacks, people still admire the challengers (RCB lol) So why not give a chance to these challenger brands? Everyone is competing. Be kind! Be creative and respect the creative. And yes, in all honesty, this Mother’s Day special will be on my proud work shelf Because sometimes you just need an A team to believe in an idea! ... conceptualized and scripted by yours truly and the good folks at Classplus #MothersDay #Creative #Ads #Advertising #Marketing
