From tree survey right through to actionable solutions. Towards the end of 2024 our lead surveyor, Mike Kiss, had the opportunity to carry out a Tree Condition Survey for a plot of land close to residential housing and encompassing a parking area in Matlock. The mature trees on-site included limes, sycamores, and horse chestnuts, each adding beauty and value to the area. As with all trees there are potential risks that have to be managed. The survey revealed key concerns including: ✔️ Deadwood across multiple crowns, posing a hazard to parked vehicles and residents. ✔️ Structural weaknesses from historical pruning, with large regrowth creating potential failure points. ✔️ Symptoms of bleeding canker in horse chestnuts, requiring careful management to preserve their health. Our recommendations included a combination of crown reductions, deadwood removal, and phased pruning to mitigate risks while maintaining the trees' amenity value. Here’s where our teams Thompson Consultancy and Thompson Tree Services came together seamlessly: 📋 Our consultancy team delivered a detailed, actionable report to the client. 🌳 Our arb team planned and delivered the recommended works efficiently and safely. By combining expertise from both teams, we provided a streamlined service from survey to completion of recommendations, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. If you’re managing trees and want a complete service that covers both surveys and tree work, then contact myself or one of the team. #treesurveys #arboriculture #teamwork #treecare Dave Robinson Tom Boardman

What is this grass? Bentgrass: High maintenance grass that creeps into local lawns. This type of grass is sensitive to environmental conditions and easily burns out in full sun due to shallow roots. It requires more water and care than our typical cool season grasses to stay green. We recommend trying to live with it, if it is profuse attempting to mow shorter and applying more water. #Broccololandscapes #RocNY #Landscape
