After attending the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Core 4 Conference in Tempe Arizona last week my brain is swirling with so much new information! I've been reviewing my notes today and reflecting on what I learned. One of my biggest takeaways came from Tim Slade, your job is a temporary pit stop, your career is the journey you are on. It's important to be excruciatingly transparent with yourself about who you are and what you want. This resonated with me so much. It's easy to get caught up in the day to day grind and forget the journey you are on. . #atdcore4

Take a moment for this great article on the power of asking people how they are doing. So, how are you? (no, really!)

We don't really ask this do we? We might say the words, "How are you?" while passing someone in the hallway, or at the start of a meeting but we don't really mean it. Typically, the response is, "I'm good, how are you?" whether we are good or not. It's important to acknowledge where people actually are, not where they pretend to be because of the pressure they feel or where they think you want them to be!
