🌍 Participating in Model United Nations (MUN) was a transformative experience for me, even though it happened five years ago. It was more than just a competition; it was a journey of learning leadership skills and mastering the art of research. During MUN, I immersed myself in understanding global issues, honed my public speaking abilities, and learned the intricacies of diplomacy. The opportunity to represent a country and debate international policies taught me invaluable lessons in negotiation, teamwork, and critical thinking. Reflecting on this experience today, I realize how much it shaped my perspective and ignited my passion for making a difference on a global scale. It laid the foundation for my career aspirations and continues to inspire me to strive for excellence in everything I do. #ModelUnitedNations #LeadershipDevelopment #GlobalCitizen 🌐

Immersing students in international civics enriches their understanding of global affairs and fosters empathy for diverse cultures. Teachers can enhance this learning by partnering with local consulates, developing international school projects, and engaging with global citizenship programs. For instance, collaborating with consulates provides unique opportunities, while international partner projects allow students to directly interact and learn from peers abroad. Additionally, local organizations like the San Diego Diplomacy Council offer programs that promote international relations and diplomacy among youth, helping cultivate the next generation of global leaders. https://lnkd.in/gJmn2Z8h #GlobalEducation #FutureLeaders #CivicEngagement - #edutopia

What is the difference Between Diplomacy and Politics 🤔 Ever thought, what sets diplomacy apart from politics, especially in the realm of Project management? Let's explore 🌊 🔹Diplomacy is essential for effective leadership. It's the art of navigating conversations with tact and respect, building bridges among team members, and acknowledging diverse viewpoints. Diplomacy fosters a collaborative atmosphere, enhancing teamwork and ensuring smooth project execution. 🤝 🔹On the other hand, Politics, often involves actions aimed at gaining power or favor. While being politically aware is important, negative politics can lead to favoritism, manipulation, and division. This can erode trust, lower team morale, and disrupt progress. 😕 For Project managers, balancing both is crucial. Diplomatic leadership unites and creates harmony, while unchecked politics can divide and disrupt. ✅ Focus on a diplomatic approach in your leadership strategies to build stronger, more resilient teams and ensure success. 🌟 #ProjectManagement #Leadership #Teamwork #ProfessionalGrowth

Coaching leaders to build sustainable high-performing teams | Director of Engineering | BEng(Hons) | MSc | PGCE | CEng | MIET | Operations | Consultant | NED | Submariner
'Deference or Diplomacy?' I've never been one for over-egging on the deference side (alternatively known as butt-snorkelling in the Navy) when it comes to dealing with seniors or people of influence. But I have always been mindful of the need to behave in such a manner that enables strategic, long term interests to be preserved and not damaged. There is a huge difference between being diplomatic at one end of the spectrum, and pure snivelling, sucking up and exuberant deference at the other. The latter I find particularly distasteful. If you see it, I assume you will feel this too. The former requires more deft skills and experience, but is achievable. It's more akin to playing chess. There's a reason why diplomacy is so effective so make sure you adopt that approach. Or your colleagues will call you out! ♻️ Reshare if you enjoyed reading this. 📌 Want to know how to 10x your current leadership capability?
