Running a business isn’t always picture-perfect moments or successful events. It can be quite unpredictable. Yesterday was a tough reminder of that. I walked into the studio only to find a major plumbing disaster. Instead of prepping for my evening class, it turned into an unexpected cleanup mission. Unfortunately I had to cancel the class, which meant losing a portion of income for the day. Thank you to all my customers for your understanding. Thank you to my small business neighbors You’re Cordially Invited for allowing me to post up in their space and the General Store Shops & Cafe for letting me use their facilities. Grateful to Mike at Magic Drain (Union) for coming through, and of course, to my husband Rodney for always being there when I need him the most. Entrepreneurship can be humbling, but it’s moments like these that remind me of the importance of resilience. We keep pushing forward, no matter the setback, one day at a time. #smallbusinesslife, #entrepreneurmindset, #entrepreneurstruggles, #businessownerlife, #resilience, #plumbingproblems, #unexpectedchallenges, #keepmovingforward, #grateful, #smallbusinesssupport, #smallbusinesscommunity, #businesshustle, #overcomingobstacles, #behindthescenes, #supportlocalbusiness, #stayhumble, #hustleandheart, #realbusinessstories, #vulnerabilitypost, #entrepreneurjourney

It was a great experience talking about my journey on The Daily Show and reflecting on why Harlem became the birthplace of FIELDTRIP. When I first moved to New York City, opening a restaurant in Harlem wasn’t on my radar, but living with my family helped me understand just how special this community is. Starting a business here meant I had to think about who would walk through the doors – not just customers, but people like my cousins Tanisha and Christina, and Aunt Dot. It became personal. FIELDTRIP was built with the community in mind – we wanted to offer healthy, culturally rich food that people could feel good about eating. In too many working-class communities, access to good-for-you food is limited, and I wanted to change that. Our motto is “Rice is Culture,” and it runs through everything we do, from Harlem to our locations at Rockefeller Center, Columbia University, and even Atlantis in the Bahamas. Sharing this story on The Daily Show was a reminder of the importance of building a business with purpose – one that reflects the values of care, culture, and community. #Entrepreneurship #TheDailyShow #BusinessWithPurpose #CommunityFirst

Recently, I was reflecting on how far I’ve come in my business journey with The Written World. Professionally, I have always focused on building my network. It's something that gets drilled into your head in college and throughout your first jobs. "It's not what you know, Haley, it's who you know." I always thought I'd work in Corporate America, so my entire network was made up of co-workers, company leaders, and individuals who climbed the rank at various dream organizations I aspired to work at one day in the future. But when I became an "agency-owner-by-accident" as I anointed myself in the pandemic, I realized despite the many people incredibly successful people I developed relationships with (personally and professionally) over my almost decade in marketing at the time, very few had insight into the new path I found myself on. There was SO much about owning a business I didn’t know – and even more things that I didn’t know I didn’t know! (P.S. - I'm still learning every single day.) And as the business grew, I knew I needed real support from others who lived in the strange new world I was now living in too. Enter: The Entreprenista League. Rather than feeling like an imposter, this powerful community of bada$$ Entreprenistas made me feel right at home. After getting to know Stephanie Cartin and Courtney Spritzer in those early days, I was hooked, and knew, despite my life-long vision of a career in corporate, I was never going back. I’m so grateful that I was able to find a safe, non-judgmental place to ask for help when I needed it. Whether you're a first-time founder like I was or a seasoned Entreprenista, THIS is the community you need to be a part of. The relationships I've built have not only turned into clients, partnerships, and mentorships, but they've also turned into friendships. The Entreprenista League only opens membership 4x per year, and trust me when I say, this is an investment that will pay off 10x over. If you're looking to crush your 2024 goals with a supportive community by your side, sign up for one of four open events this week to get a peek into what it's like inside: https://lnkd.in/edG_pdyV I'm forever grateful to be a part of it, and if you join, I know you will be too. https://lnkd.in/edG_pdyV

New Perspective👀 Just visited Niagara Falls with my family for the 10th time, and wow, it was an awe-inspiring experience! 🌊✨ Instead of our usual spot, we explored the caves this time. The falls are mighty and incredible, making me feel so tiny in comparison. This got me thinking about my business. Sometimes, we get so caught up in our routines and processes that we forget to step back and see the bigger picture. What if we took a moment to view our business from a different angle? We might discover something new, surprising, and incredible. This perspective shift is at the heart of what I do at AnnaGlow. I help business owners shine by evaluating their processes, setting up efficient workflows, and clearing their days of daily tasks. This way, they can focus on what truly matters: growing their business and pursuing their passion. If you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, let's connect. Together, we'll rediscover the spark that ignited your entrepreneurial journey and create a path to success that lets you do what you love. 🌟 #NiagaraFalls #BusinessInspiration #FreshPerspective #EntrepreneurLife #BusinessGrowth #WorkSmarter #VirtualAssistants #Inspiration #ExploreNewPaths #annaglowconsulting #BusinessShine #EfficientWorkflows

𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘: How ended up with a business mentor 6 months ago and never looked back ☝️ I dunno if people can relate to this, but One of the biggest problems I found when I first founded Noramble was how lonely it was. I didn't have: 👉 A Co-Founder 👉 A huge team 👉 Entrepreneurial family or friends. 👉 A network of people 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗵*𝘁. So, about 12 months ago, I met Andrew Golpys through a need to improve the Noramble website. After his agency worked their magic on the Noramble website, we found ourselves delving into the hard truths of agency life. He'd walked this path, braved the storms, and emerged victorious. The next time we met, he proposed to be my business mentor to take me under his wing. 𝗢𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲: 👉 We got on like a house on fire 👉 He'd walked the journey I was on 👉 Our goals aligned 👉 I've got someone to moan too 👉 He's a fellow Mancunian He's like the Co-Founder I never knew I needed. Since then, Noramble has grown more in the past six months than the previous year and a half. The takeaway? It takes a village to build and grow a business. P.S. Apologies pal, this is the only picture I have of us!

STEP TWO - LISTEN, LEARN, LINK, LEAD "It takes a village to raise a child" goes the old saying, but what does it take when you want to beat a path to challenging an industry? An entire community! Through the years of Mossgiel, we've done things differently - but never alone. We've made mistakes, collaborated, shared, learned and called on friends from inside and outside the business community. To many, business may seem boring - simply suits and shoes of varying colours that talk of 'KPIs' and other three letter acronyms of jargon all covered up by a marketing department trying to sell you something. The fact is, when you tie a business to a purpose with a clear vision, it can be a incredible, colourful blunderbuss of people, ideas and passion... and when that all comes together - magic can happen. We have an incredible group of people who want to help and support change - those with a passion for what we have a passion for, too. Advisors, business owners, public sector legends, peeps in larger businesses who understand the challenges and come together to help us achieve the next step in our Mossgiel journey. We're also part of an incredible programme called 'Scale up Scotland' - a programme headed by Sir Tom Hunter and a team of awesome, supportive people; where every couple of months 14 of us get together to 'talk business', share our challenges and learn from some of the most inspirational people we've ever met. Oh, and see that little blue sign in the picture? Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, no matter how calm the duck on the water is - the legs are always paddling at full speed. So with a rebrand, and a community of support in place... what else do we need to support small scale farming and take family farmed, natural dairy from farm gate to dinner plate once again?
