📸 Why I prefer the viewfinder rather than the camera screen in dental photography. It’s all about the ergonomics. Keeping the camera close to your body makes the gear feel lighter and more stable, while helping you frame the photographs better and maintain consistent angles. Consistency is key. What’s your preference: viewfinder or screen? 🤔👇 Stay tuned for more dental photography tips and tricks every Friday. #fridaytipsindentalphotography #DentalPhotography #PhotographyTips #Ergonomics #consistencyiskey

Exaggerated diffusion, can make teeth look fake (like plastic) such as when photographed with big softboxes featuring dense diffusion surfaces. On the other hand, using the flash alone will always create harsh reflections that we don’t see in reality. Where is the sweet spot? I believe the most effective solution is small softboxes with less dense or diffusing surface and adjustable angles—features I incorporated into the Fixlite Twin. Let me know your thoughts on this. Most dentists find photography gear bulky and heavy—and yes, it can be. However high-quality dental photos require professional gear. You can use your phone for decent shots, but you won’t get the same level of detail and precision that professional gear provides. We’re usually shooting for just a few minutes per patient, not all day like professional photographers. With the proper techniques, the gear becomes totally manageable. So, don’t let that hold you back from shooting amazing photos 📸 Stay tuned for more dental photography tips and tricks every Friday. #fridaytipsindentalphotography

Skinmap allows clinicians to complete a Total Body Photography (TBP) session in less than 60 seconds. Our "blink comparator" function overlays previous scans from any viewpoint so the reviewer can quickly see how the skin evolves. See it in action! #DigitalHealth

There are lots of people who would rather go to the dentist than have a camera pointed their way. And honestly? I get it. It’s deeply psychological. A photo challenges how we perceive ourselves. We tie our self-worth to how we look, and when a photo doesn’t align with our internal image, it creates discomfort. But here’s the funny thing, when you look at a family picture, what’s the first thing you check? Yourself!! And you probably decide if the photo is “good” or “bad” based solely on how you look. Meanwhile, your kids, partner, or parents couldn’t care less about your hair or makeup, they love you as you are. Next time you go to a dentist, just be grateful they’re not holding a camera instead:) *Pro tip from a photographer: Start small. Practice taking selfies or casual photos with friends in a relaxed environment. Over time, you’ll get more comfortable with the camera. Focus on moments, not perfection. Remember, the best shots capture who you are, not just how you look. On second thought, why bother? AI never complains about bad lighting:) #Photography #Psychology #Family #Dentist #Camera
