I’m tired of the stigma that teachers can’t cross over into corporate. So, I’m going to start a new weekly post that highlights why you should hire teachers. Did you know that teachers, on average, make 1500 decisions a day? That comes out to 4 decision every minute. In the corporate world, the ability to make frequent, rapid decisions mirrors the decision-making process in education. Just as teachers must quickly adapt to the needs of their students throughout the day, corporate professionals must respond dynamically to changing business conditions, client demands, and team challenges. Let’s get transitioning teachers seen. Let’s get transitioning teachers a job. I’m one of those trying to pivot too. #transitioningteacher #teacher #hire #decisons

For hiring the right teacher, you need to break the tradition of looking just at their degrees. Having a degree isn’t enough these days, especially in the education sector where every student is different and needs to be dealt with differently, simply having knowledge about a subject isn’t enough for a child to learn. Finding the right teacher is important. Here are some of the qualities I strongly believe should be looked at while hiring teachers: ➡Strong interpersonal skills: Like I mentioned earlier, every student is different and needs to be dealt with differently. Teachers who can understand every student and can foster a supportive classroom environment is a must. ➡Collaboration and teamwork: Seek teachers who value collaboration, are open to feedback, and can contribute to a harmonious and productive school environment as they need to work closely with administrators and parents. ➡Adaptability and flexibility: While hiring, put them through different situations and ask them how they would react. Seek teachers who demonstrate adaptability. We need teachers who can adjust to different students and be flexible with their teaching approaches. ➡Not in for the money: It’s important for institutions to find teachers who have genuine enthusiasm for teaching because it is important for teachers to have the ability to ignite curiosity and make studying enjoyable for students. By going beyond their degree, you ensure that what and how a student is taught in class is impactful. Investing in exceptional teachers is really important. #Education #Teachers #Hiring

Hot take: The Media (especially the 'Red Tops') is wrong about the teacher shortages. It’s not only the pay. It’s: • The workload • Blame culture • Extra responsibilities • Constantly changing priorities • Curriculum pressure and ‘scripted’ teaching As well as… • Inadequate training to deal with poor behaviour Drive teachers bonkers. Teachers are not lazy layabouts who want a ‘handout.’ We are dedicated professionals tired of going to a gunfight with a butter knife.

The Future of Education Hinges on Who We Put in Our Classrooms 🔑 Let's talk recruitment in education. Not the dry, bureaucratic process you might imagine, but the vibrant, crucial task of finding the spark that will ignite young minds. I'm passionate about this because I've seen firsthand how the right teacher can transform a classroom, a school, even a community. We're not just filling positions. We're scouting for superheroes without capes. Think about that history teacher who makes the past come alive, or the math whiz who turns numbers into adventures. Consider the science guru who ignites curiosity about our world. These aren't just jobs. They're callings. So why do we often treat teacher recruitment like we're hiring for a factory line? It's time to revolutionize how we attract talent to education. We need to seek passion, not just papers. We should value diversity of experience and look for lifelong learners. Emotional intelligence must be a priority, and we ought to recruit for potential, not just performance. Remember, when we recruit a teacher, we're not just hiring an employee. We're choosing a future-shaper, a dream-igniter, a life-changer. Let's treat this process with the gravity and excitement it deserves. Because the future of our world sits in those classrooms, waiting to be inspired. #EducationRecruitment #TeacherAppreciation #FutureOfEducation #PassionateTeaching
