🐳 Day 8 of Docker Journey: Mastering Port Mapping! 🚢 Alhamdulillah, today I explored the critical concept of Docker port mapping and container management. Here's a breakdown of what I learned: 🔌 Port Mapping: You can easily map host ports to container ports using the -p flag in Docker. For example: docker run -it -p 9000:80 --name mywebserver nginx:latest maps port 9000 on your host to port 80 in the container. 🖥️ 🔄 Starting and Attaching Containers: Restart your container with docker start --attach mywebserver. Even if you exit, the container keeps running! 🚀 If you run the container without attaching (docker run --name my-web nginx), it stops when you exit. 🌐 Testing Your Setup: Check detailed server information using: netstat -tulnp. Mastering these commands brings you one step closer to efficiently managing Docker environments. Deployment in Kubernetes ---------------------------------------- 1. Deployment is a full-fledged object in Kubernetes. 2. It manages ReplicaSet which further manages a pod or a set of pods. 3. Deployment comes on top of ReplicaSet therefore it adds certain features. 4. It helps with rolling updates and seamless rollbacks. 5. You write a declarative manifest in which you specify in the kind section deployment to create a deployment object.
