Three RRD / Roessingh, Centrum voor Revalidatie presentations will be part of this conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Two presentations by Hans Rietman and one presentation by Stephanie Jansen - Kosterink. Hans will start on Wednesday with a presentation in the “advances in Robotic Rehabilitation” slot focusing on the usability evaluation of the T-grip thumb exoskeleton to support lateral pinch grasp in SCI patients. His second presentation is on Saturday as part of the slot on Robotics in Clinical Practice. His presentation has the title: “Therapeutic Effect of the Use of an Assistive Wearable Soft-Robotic Glove Supporting People With Impaired Hand Strength During Activities of Daily Living on Hand Function”. Stephanie will present her work in the Telerehabilitation slot, which takes places on Saturday as well. It’s a recognition of creative leaps forward happening at companies large and small. Abbott won “Best of Innovation” in Digital Health with AVEIR DR, their dual chamber leadless pacemaker cleared in July last year. AVEIR’s key breakthrough is in achieving synchronized pacing, implant to implant (“i2i”). The implanted modules in the right atrium and right ventricle communicate DIRECTLY and synchronize the top and bottom of the heart. For patients requiring dual chamber pacing, this platform can be placed via a minimally invasive procedure (no chest incision) and represents a massive quality of life improvement. Abbott engineers overcame significant technical hurdles with i2i’s seamless wireless synchronization between the pacemakers, leveraging high frequency pulses and minimizing power consumption.
