Social media updates 🌟 🌟 TikTok is launching the “TikTok Search Ads Campaign,” which allows advertisers to appear in search results — which they were already able to do — but now, they have full control over how their content appears in the SERPs and can tailor ads to align with specific search behaviors. 🌟YouTube is testing fixable community guidelines violations, which allows creators to edit their content if it’s been age-restricted or removed due to community guidelines violations. 🌟 Instagram is working on Shared Albums, allowing users to share content with selected members. 🌟 X/Twitter has announced that the “block” feature will only block that account from engaging with you, but they will still be able to see your public posts. 🌟 Threads is testing the ability to tag users in photos. "Facebook Ads Break" sounds like a mix-up of two separate Facebook features: Facebook Ads and Facebook Live Breaks. Facebook Ads: These are advertisements that individuals, businesses, and organizations can create and run on Facebook's platform to reach specific target audiences. These ads can appear in various formats across Facebook, including in users' news feeds, on the right-hand side of the desktop interface, and in the Stories feature. Facebook Live Breaks: This feature allows creators to take short breaks during their live broadcasts to run ads. It helps them monetize their content by inserting ad breaks at natural points in their streams. If you're encountering issues with either of these features, such as ads not displaying correctly or live breaks not functioning as expected, it might be due to various reasons, including technical glitches, policy changes, or updates to the platform. It's best to check Facebook's official resources, such as their Help Center or Developer Documentation, for the most accurate and up-to-date information on how to troubleshoot any problems you're experiencing.

TikTok Notes is on the way…but are you ready? Just like when Instagram launched Threads, there is going to be a lot of buzz around TikTok Notes from the get-go. It’s going to be one of your fastest-growing channels, faster and more significant than other new social networks that pop up. With these things, my strategy is always to test and learn. Use content you’ve already created for networks like Instagram or Facebook, see how it performs and follow the trends of what you’re seeing. As it’s image-based, it’s going to be a lot easier for brands to jump on quickly so even if you have a small TikTok account, I still think this is a network to jump on. 👉 What’s your strategy? https://lnkd.in/ecyvqy8e #TikTokNotes #SocialMedia

Does your follower count mean anything anymore? In recent years, social media has increasingly prioritized showing content selected by the algorithm rather than content from the creators you follow. Will we ever see a return of following-only feeds? In his latest Q&A, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri takes on this question. Here's what he had to say from Social Media Today, LLC >>> https://bit.ly/3Bs2faS #SocialMedia #Instagram #SMM #DigitalMarketing

A massive weekend of social media shake-ups. In my latest piece on Medium, I dive into all the changes and updates that took place in the social media industry this past weekend. Regardless of if you work in social media or try to avoid it, the changes this weekend extend beyond the scope of just marketing/communications. Major changes include the TikTok ban saga, Instagram grid ratio changing, and a new app by Meta Instagram called "edits." These changes all foreshadow significant changes to come in the future. Should be an interesting year.

TikTok is on the clock. From social media 'stars' to marketers, the looming exit of TikTok in the U.S. is creating a seismic change as they prepare for life after. For marketers, they've been anticipating the change for months and shifting resources and dollars to other platforms such as Instagram. For influencers and TikTok stars, the change is much more difficult given the legions of followers they've built up over the years. TikTok's future now rests in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court. And while it's not a TikTok challenge, SCOTUS has a track record of supporting the legislative and executive branches on national security issues. One thing is clear - the platform hasn't found any viable buyers. For the platform's 170 million U.S. users, there's a strong possibility they'll be looking for another outlet for their entertainment, public venting and buying recommendations soon. The issue goes beyond TikTok. However the higher court rules, the implications will have a ripple effect on some of the biggest technology companies in the U.S. As mentioned, a ruling against TikTok and even the threat of it already has brands reallocating their ad dollars to Meta and other rivals. The other issue lies with influencers and content creators who have and will not only be scrambling to replicate their success on other platforms, but likely face challenges accessing and backing up their existing content that lives on TikTok. TikTok's days may be numbered in the U.S., or it may not. But, whether you're a marketer, content creator or influencer, this is yet another reminder not to put all your eggs, money and content in one digital basket https://lnkd.in/gWpKTUDE #tiktok #socialmedia #scotus #nationalsecurity #contentcreator #marketing #influencer #brand #business

I think the biggest miss on social media platforms right now is that most marketers are using old thinking around their strategies. They think it is still about aggregating followers and just trying to speak to that group. Not only did that change when flagship platforms moved toward a pay-to-play model (to monetize and satisfy shareholders) but the entire ecosystem has changed since TikTok pushed interest and content over social and connections. Gary Vaynerchuk put pen to paper on the subject in his newest book "Day Trading Attention" and I encourage anyone working in social to pick up a copy and educate themselves. "Prior to TikTok’s For You page, most platforms were led by the social graph. Some platforms still considered users’ interest — Facebook, for example, used to have an algorithm called EdgeRank to determine what content would show up in user feeds. Every like, share, comment, and new post from a user was counted as an “edge,” and based on all those edges, Facebook would predict what type of content would be most interesting to that user. An interest-graph-led algorithm, on the other hand, would automatically recognize your changing interests and show that content to you automatically, making it more likely that you’ll stay on the platform for longer. At this point, nearly every platform is copying TikTok’s interest-graph-led algorithm. Meta is making a huge interest graph push through Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels, as well as Instagram’s Explore page. YouTube has expanded their video recommendation engine as well as their Shorts feed." My advice: Go where the ball is headed, not where it was! #cpg #cpgindustry #socialmediaagency #socialmediastrategy
