Indian Astronaut to Pilot Mission to the International Space Station In an upcoming joint mission by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), an Indian astronaut will journey to the International Space Station (ISS) for the first time in 40 years. Scheduled for launch between April and June next year, this historic mission will mark a significant milestone in India’s space exploration journey. Following the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which highlighted India's potential as a rising space power, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to become only the second Indian in space since Rakesh Sharma in 1984. Shukla will participate in Axiom Space's Axiom-4 mission, representing a new chapter for India in international space collaboration. This mission will not only elevate ISRO’s capabilities but also bolster India’s reputation as an emerging global space superpower. #IndiaInSpace #ISRO #ghostingtech #digitalmarketing #software

Can We Build on Mars - a 10 Trillion Dollar Question? 🤔 Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras have developed a novel "extraterrestrial concrete" using simulated Martian dust and sulfur, aiming to support future Mars colonization. 🏘 This "cosmic concrete" could potentially be used to build structures on #Mars. 🏗 The waterless concrete is strong, hardens quickly, and can be produced using resources found on the #RedPlanet. The research is part of a broader initiative on extraterrestrial manufacturing, addressing the material needs for sustained human presence on Mars. Delta-v (Δv\Delta v) is the measure of the change in velocity required for a spacecraft to perform orbital maneuvers, such as transferring between orbits or adjusting its trajectory. The Hohmann transfer orbit is the most fuel-efficient way to transfer between two circular orbits, using two impulse burns to minimize delta-v requirements. In my simulation, I constrained the Apoapsis for the first orbit and set the final orbit's eccentricity to 0.005. The solver converged after multiple iterations, calculating the unknown delta-v required to achieve a specific apoapsis or orbital eccentricity. convergence data and the required final delta Vs are in the comment. Delta V of both orbits were unknown at the start of mission. By using this simple technique we can find the Delta V for any orbit. You have to read it all the way to believe it 😀 The new Mobile Launcher ML-2, an essential part of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration #Artemis project to bring mankind back to the #Moon is facing cost and schedule overruns of incredible proportions. Originally contracted in 2019 for $383m and to be delivered in March 2023, the project experienced a series of tiny slippages, bringing the latest projection to $2.7b in spring 2029. Aside from the cost explosion and the loss of trust in the delivery capabilities of the contractor working on ML-2, there's the additional complication that the Artemis IV mission "which will send an Orion spacecraft with four astronauts to the Lunar Gateway space station, install a new module on the Gateway, and conduct the second lunar landing of the Artemis program" (https://lnkd.in/dZjp9b5c) requires ML-2 to be available - and is scheduled for 2028, so before the current date of availability for the launcher. And we thought cost and timeline overruns for projects around here like the new Berlin Airport or the Stuttgart-21 train station are bad ... 31

Where we’re going, we don’t need roads… 🚀 But we definitely need Yamcs! Yamcs (pronounced /jæmz/) is a cutting-edge Mission Control System, already utilised worldwide by government space agencies such as BUSOC, Centre National d'Études Spatiales, European Space Agency - ESA, and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, as well as private companies such as Airbus Defence and Space, Astrobotic, and Sierra Space. We developed Yamcs to offer a comprehensive suite of tools to successfully conduct various operations, whether it’s for testing, integrating, simulating, or executing space missions. 🌕𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology presented the Momo project - a prototype of a lunar base capable of accommodating 2 astronauts. The inspiration for the development was bee honeycombs. The authors of the project proposed to use instead of walls hermetic polyethylene membranes covered with an aluminum frame. Each module will be attached to each other with the help of magnets, which will allow you to quickly build a full-fledged dwelling out of a few parts. Space furniture can be attached to each "honeycomb" - a bed, a desk or even an exercise machine. The base can be in the shape of a sphere or ellipsoid, and if broken, the housing can be completely rebuilt or individual parts can be quickly replaced. If NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration or SpaceX embrace the concept, Momo could potentially be one of the key inventions in future missions to the moon. For example, Artemis, which is scheduled for 2026. It will be convenient to transport such a "constructor" on spacecraft, because it will not take up much space. #archtown #mit #momo

What is the time on the moon? So I saw an article about this, and the fact that time slips everyday on the moon which makes things even more tricky and I couldn't help thinking that this is something we here at Time & Frequency Solutions could possibly help with. So if NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration or the European Space Agency - ESA need a hand with any of this, feel free to get in touch.. Determining the time on the Moon has historically been a straightforward matter: missions adhered to the time zone of their originating country. However, with the increasing frequency of lunar exploration, this approach is becoming untenable. The European Space Agency (ESA) has identified the need for a standardized lunar time zone. According to ESA engineer Brice Dellandrea, this is not a unilateral decision but a necessary step towards international cooperation in lunar exploration. The primary goal of establishing a unified lunar time system is to facilitate communication and coordination among the growing number of public and private entities involved in lunar missions. As activity on and around the Moon intensifies, the need for a standardized timekeeping system becomes increasingly apparent. www.timefreq.com chris.slater@timefreq.com Tel: +44 7940732475 #NASA #europeanspaceagency #timing #frequency #efficiency #systemsth #datanetworks #frequency #communication #technology #TimeAndFrequency #NetworkEngineering #timefreq #ChrisKnowsTime #NetworkingStruggles #NTP #Unreliableorinconsistentnetworkconnections #NetworkTiming #timeandfrequencysolutions #Masterclocksynchronisationsystems #NTP #PTP #Networktimeservers #Timemeasurementsystems #Redundantsolutions #Militarygradetiming #Analogueanddigitaltimedisplays #timefreq #timeandfrequency #networking #nyc #financialdistrict #tech #digitalworld

The postponement of Blue Origin's NS-29 mission is disappointing but understandable given the challenges of space launches. NS-29 was important for simulating lunar gravity and testing technologies that support NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's #Artemis program. Scrubbing the launch due to weather and avionics issues highlights Blue Origin's dedication to safety and mission integrity. Blue Origin has a strong track record with its New Shepard program, and such setbacks are part of the iterative process in aerospace development. The collaboration with NASA remains promising, and once the issues are resolved, the mission will provide valuable insights for future lunar missions. https://lnkd.in/ePUyzJkz
