Collaborating closely with educators and school staff, parents can ensure that decisions about their child's transition out of AIS are well-informed and supportive of their educational journey. Here's how parents can actively contribute to the process: 1. Regular Communication: Stay in touch with teachers and school personnel to stay informed about your child's progress in AIS. 2. Review Progress: Keep track of your child's academic progress and assessments to understand their performance against learning standards. 3. Attend Meetings: Participate in meetings with educators to discuss your child's progress in AIS and review assessment results. 4. Provide Input: Share insights about your child's strengths, challenges, and learning preferences to help tailor interventions effectively. 5. Discuss Next Steps: Engage in discussions about the potential transition out of AIS, considering factors like sustained progress and mastery of learning standards. 6. #Poor_Academic__Performance_of_Students_is_a_Major_Concern Poor academic performance of students has been a major concern for many of the developing State such as PNG. Many attempts have been made to determine the causes of low academic performance of students. Such causes originate from the students, the school & the family, pupil (students) gender, household socio-economic status & poverty. The causes are indeed very complex, have many aspects & are interrelated which worsens the problem of students low academic performance. Most surveys identified factors that causes low academic performance of students to be attributed to teacher factors, pupil (students) factors, parents factors & school factors. The main factors that causes the low academic achievement can be generally grouped into four groups. 1. School factors- these include limited teaching materials, inedequate textbooks, infrastructures shortages & insufficiently trained teachers, etc. 2. Teacher factors- these include; lateness to school, absentism, use of local/pidgin language in teaching, inability to complete the syllabus, low interest in children's understanding of the lesson and not hardworking, incompetent teachers, etc. 3. Pubil (Students) Characteristics- which includes: absentism, use of local/pidgin language in the classroom/school premises, social media, peer or other bad influences, laziness, no hunger to learn, etc. 4. Parent factors- these include: inability to provide meals, text books & basics school needs, lack of interaction with children's teachers & low involvement in parent teachers association, no proper parental care, parents not checking children's academic tasks. These are some of the contributing factors or interrelated factors which cause the low academic performance of students in school, so we have to look carefully into these interrelated factors & try to improve our children's academic performances.
