Quality Culture Transformation – Where do you stand on a scale from 1 to 10? I have witnessed many Quality Improvement initiatives over the years – many successful and many unsuccessful. All have been masked with a multitude of labels – QIP, TQM, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and many others. The names/labels are immaterial but do result in adding countless entries into Roget’s Thesaurus. There is no one magic formula or one-size-fits all approach which yield success. When all is said and done, companies want to improve quality, minimize costs, and gain market share. However, there is a mindset or attitude that should exist as a prerequisite for success. This mindset can be reflected in twelve (12) categories. As part of company assessments, I‘ve scored companies on a scale of 1 to 10 in each of these twelve categories with “1” being “at ground zero, in the dark” and “10” being “transformed and sees the light”. Although the scoring is subjective in nature, the attached table portrays the definition of a “1” and “10” using some actual examples. - Enjoy. #OrganizationalDevelopment #ISO90012015 #ContinuousImprovement #LeanSixSigma
