Mastering complexity is a core task when introducing innovations and makes engineers' hearts beat faster 💓 Train Integrity, and in particular the introduction of Hybrid Train Detection (HTD), is one such new function, the standardization and implementation of which I have personally been involved with for several years. By shifting responsibility from the trackside equipment to the train, HTD enables more efficient rail operations and a significantly shorter headway 🚆 Hybrid train detection is a possible implementation of ETCS Level 2 (Baseline 4) for train control, command and signaling (CCS) in Europe and an important step towards increasing the line capacity for selected applications.
