Tune in as our Founder and CEO, Sebastien de Ghellinck, discusses the vital topic of well-being in construction on The ConTechCrew. Discover the transformative changes our industry needs. #construction #wellbeing #mentalhealth #mentalsafety
Is this #construction's 'Got Milk' moment? That question landed Sebastien de Ghellinck a spot on this week's The ConTechCrew with no other than Rob McKinney. That question also helped me understand what SkillSignal - Safety & Compliance and cofounder Vivian Burgnon were investing in #construction #safety.

Safety isn't just a box we check. It's woven into every aspect of our company. We're building a culture of safety at Robinson Brothers. Why? The lives of our subs count on it. The lives of our clients count on it. The lives of our vendors count on it. And the lives of our people count on it. We want EVERYONE to make it to the dinner table each night. So don't forget this important nugget of wisdom: The decisions we make on a job site impact our entire life. Make the right (and safe) decisions today and every day. #safety #robinsonbrothers #construction

Safety First, always: Hawkins Safety Pledge 🚧 At Hawkins, we make safety our commitment, not just a priority. We proudly launched the Safety Pledge initiative with the AIAL Infrastructure team, bringing together Hawkins and our contractors to promise one thing: We will always put the safety of our people first! 🙌 We pledged to: ✋ Stop work if we’re unsure and ask for help. ❌ If it’s not planned or safe, we won’t do it. 🚫 We refuse to put ourselves or others at risk. 🗣️ When we see something, we speak up. During our recent toolbox talk, Darren Prinsloo Senior Zero Harm Advisor, Jan Coetzer Project Manager, and Mark Tracy Inglis Project Director led the charge. Mark and Jan signed the pledge first, in front of the project team, and the WP1 crew embraced it with full support, taking the commitment seriously. Check out our team's pictures and the signed pledge below! At Hawkins, we recognise those who live by these values. We’ll continue to reward and acknowledge the teams who uphold the Safety Pledge every week. By working together, we’re raising the bar for safety and ensuring every team member gets home safely. #Hawkins #SafetyFirst #SafetyPledge #ZeroHarm #ConstructionSafety #TeamWork #BuildingForTomorrow #LeadershipInSafety

For the past two years, Nate Splane has represented the Derby Fire Department at our annual safety fair to explain the scope and capabilities of the teams sent out during construction emergencies. His clarity and earnestness have been a high point of the fair, which made it more fitting than surprising to see him hired as Kruse’s new Safety Manager. This week we caught up with Nate to discuss the career that got him here, and his vision for a growing company and maintaining an excellent standard for safety. Serving as a firefighter for fifteen years, Nate’s three most recent years have involved serving as a lieutenant leading five firemen. Through his time serving Sedgewick County and Derby, Nate saw the cost of carelessness on worksites, and grew fluent in worksite standards. Beyond this, Nate developed a leadership style he looks forward to translating in his new position “I tend to lead from the rear. Let people make their own decisions, trust them, and receive their input.” Nate’s vision for our safety department revolves around building committees of existing workers to give a voice to real world needs and develop solutions collectively. “I’ll put it on paper, but they’ll have a say on what we do.” Nate believes this will increase buy-in from the workers, redefining safety as an internal effort, rather than an invading force on the jobsite. To bolster this buy-in, Nate described his leadership style as “rewards oriented rather than punitive. I’d rather lift people up instead of putting them down.” This approach is counterbalanced by competition, a favorite of Nate’s. With a son in football, a daughter in volleyball and soccer, and his own history playing baseball, Nate’s love of friendly competition runs deep. With these strategies, Nate’s confident that the force that has traditionally been seen as an inconvenience on jobsites can become an exciting and engaging aspect of Kruse’s work culture. No job is big enough to justify unsafe work conditions, and every worker deserves to go home safe and sound every day. It’s Nate’s goal that Kruse can deliver the safety our workers deserve, while also strengthening our already strong work culture in the process. #safety #workculture #competition #friendlycompetition

🗣️ Special employee recognition: Meet Corbin one of W. M. Lyles Co. , our operating company, laborers who performed life-saving CPR on a random citizen. Pictured here is a Lyles Services Co.. safety team member giving him a safety recognition award for his heroic efforts. A couple of months before this incident, Corbin had received first-aid training from our safety team. This is why we value safety at Lyles Construction Group - emergencies can happen when least expected. Safety is not just a protocol; it's a lifeline. 🦺👏 #safetyfirst #employeerecognition #cpr #constructionsafety #lifeatlyles
