I was a member of the strategic advisory group for the Youth Endowment's fund on the topic of Education, Children and Violence. You can find the practice guide here https://lnkd.in/eYxxhwK5. The report outlines 5 recommendations: 1 – Keep children in education 2 – Provide children with trusted adults 3 – Develop children’s social and emotional skills 4 – Target efforts at the places and times where violence occurs 5 – Cautiously consider unproven strategies and avoid harmful approaches

What curriculum do you use in your children's ministry? 🚸 In the CRC, we believe that any church in our denomination should be able to use the denomination's curriculum, Dwell, whether they can afford it or not. That's why we created Dwell Assist, a financial assistance program for CRC churches. If your church could use assistance paying for Dwell, see the Network post below. We trust that through Dwell Assist, the discount given to CRC congregations, and all of the materials free for viewing in the Digital Library, Faith Alive materials will have a Kingdom impact in your church and others across the CRC. https://lnkd.in/dU3rmQC3

Great insights on what to discuss with children.
I found myself reflecting on this powerful interview with Dr. Alan Shonubi: https://lnkd.in/dTVZufPN. I love the bit about showing children where their school fees come from. Because January is financially demanding for families, here is how I teach my children to respect money.

We believe in the power of community and the importance of ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. By supporting school lunch programs and engaging with our local schools, we can make a significant impact on the lives of Utah's kids. Why This Matters: Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies: Proper nutrition is crucial for a child's cognitive development and academic success. By eliminating school lunch debt and ensuring all students have access to healthy meals, we help create an environment where kids can focus on learning and growing. Equal Opportunities: Every child deserves a fair chance to succeed, regardless of their background or financial situation. Supporting universal school lunch programs ensures that no student is left behind or stigmatized due to unpaid lunch balances. Community Strength: When we come together to support our schools, we build a stronger, more connected community. Volunteer programs, mentorship, and after-school activities provide a supportive network that helps kids develop confidence and life skills. Future Champions: By fostering healthy habits and providing opportunities for physical activity through recreational programs we inspire the next generation of athletes and leaders. Investing in our children today sets the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Join us in making a difference. Together, we can ensure that every child in Utah has the nourishment and support they need to reach their full potential. #SupportOurKids #CommunityStrong #TYTF #HealthyFutures #UtahKids
