Sometimes #communityengagement or #communityinvolvement is viewed only from the perspective of helping others. While that is an awesome perspective, some may be more likely to prioritize it if they also understood how it is mutually beneficial. Many community organizations or #nonprofits offer education on their cause. That education is a huge opportunity to learn the impact of your help and can also be used internally to help the individuals who make up your organization. While I believe community involvement is a great thing to do and even the right thing to do, I suggest being strategic in your community engagement, creating the opportunity to learn more about the cause and amplifying the available resource.

#ChangeManagement is a discipline that is often listed on resumes and refers to the ability to help organizations manage #change by preparing and supporting people, teams, and leaders. I’m curious. Do you think it would be more effective to learn to manage change or to learn to manage transition? Change is an event. Transition is a process. Change is situational. Transition is psychological. Change is external. Transition is internal. #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOperations #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #TalentManagement #GoalSetting

Aligning your team’s #goals with the organization gives a clear vision of what the team aims to achieve and can help them feel more connected to the organization and its success. To do this, consider the following: - Define clear goals and communicate HOW they relate to the organization’s goals and strategy. (Consider the SMART method) - Communicate the goals clearly and consistently. Remind the team of the goals in your everyday messaging. - Monitor and measure progress. Celebrate wins, big and small, because they call contribute to meeting the overarching goals. - Regularly review and refine. It is anticipated that 85% of the jobs that will exist 10 years from now don’t exist yet. Its easy for #leaders to get laser focused on the tasks right in front of them, however Its important for organizations to foster conversations that talk about future business and future goals. Even when focusing on today, leaders should ask how they can approach current problems, better, faster, more efficiently. This will help leaders consider new ways to solve problems which also introduces the opportunity for #upskilling and #reskilling. Upskilling means to provide an employee with more advanced skills through additional education and training. Reskilling means to provide an employee with the opportunity to learn new skills so that they can do a different job. Both upskilling and reskilling help leaders to retain their best talent, and create high performing teams. #CompanyPerks #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOperations #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #Culture #TalentManagement #TalentAquisition

Amazon is the “talk of the town” with their recent decision to require all employees to return to the office. Check out the message from their #CEO: https://lnkd.in/gSNt46c3 For those who favor working from home, this requirement is definitely unappealing. While hybrid work has several perks for both employees and the organization, including increased productivity, fully remote work can have its drawbacks. Here are some to consider. According to Forbes, 16% of companies operate fully remote - 67% of remote employee managers report concerns about effective communication and collaboration with coworkers. - 73% of executives believe remote work poses a greater cybersecurity risk. - 53% of remote workers say it’s harder to feel connected to their coworkers. - 69% of remote workers report increased burnout from digital communication tools. #Remotework #Amazon #HybridWork #WorkLifeBalance #CompanyPerks #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOperations #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #Culture

An article by Forbes says “The planning process can serve as a unique opportunity for both creativity and reflection. Collaboration is key, and by taking time to listen to the perspectives of others, you can come together to find paths for future progress, whatever your objectives may be.” https://lnkd.in/ga9hx-sh #Planning should happen on every level of the organization including the employee level and your weekly or bi-weekly #touchbases are a great opportunity for #collaboration, #discussion, #questions and #alignment. As a #leader, if you notice you are constantly delivering information or you are doing most of the talking in your touch bases, you’re missing the opportunity to tap into the perspectives of the talent on your team. #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOps #PeopleOperations #OD #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #Culture #TalentManagement #TalentAquisition #Interviewing

#NationalTalentAquisitionDay #Interviewing is a 2 way street. Not only is the employer aiming to find the best fit but the candidate is also trying to find the best fit in an employer. It is as equally important for employers and candidates to leave a lasting impression. Through their organization’s interview processes, #leaders should aim to collaborate with the #candidate and not make them feel like they are in the hot seat. The more comfortable you are able to make the interview, the more likely you are able to see the best version of the candidate which allows you to tap into their #experience, #skills and #potential. #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOps #PeopleOperations #OD #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #Culture #TalentManagement #TalentAquisition #Interviewing

Feedback is a powerful tool that can impact a teams success, however, some leaders do not include regular feedback into their leadership support for various reasons. When leaders commit to building their skill of providing feedback and also commit to incorporating feedback into their routine communication, they see the return in their relationships and team’s performance. According to an article by Harvard Business Review “You do need to commit to making your part of the conversation as helpful and productive as possible. This includes articulating a positive intention for the feedback, being clear about what you’re observing and requesting, naming the impact, focusing on strengths, developing actionable next steps, and delivering the feedback with care and curiosity.” Check out the article - https://lnkd.in/dJgexwmT #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOps #PeopleOperations #OD #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #Culture #TalentManagement #Productivity #HighPerformingTeams

Check out this article from Forbes – “PTO Only Works If Leaders Take It, Too” : https://lnkd.in/gRQxYfK6 “Longer hours and fewer breaks actually makes individuals less effective at work. Over-work compromises productivity, creativity, and the ability to have the most impact. This challenge is especially pressing in the U.S. A 2018 study found U.S. workers had more than 765 million unused vacation days, and more than half of Americans (55%) were not using all their paid time-off. Even worse, 52% of employees report working while on PTO.” Open your calendar, schedule some time off, delegate urgent tasks and disconnect. Taking time off also shows your team that it's encouraged and acceptable to take a break to recharge. #WorkLifeBalance #PTO #PaidTimeOff #Priorities #MentalHealth #HR #HumanResources #PeopleOps #PeopleOperations #OD #OrganizationalDevelopment #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Engagement #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeSatisfaction #Culture #TalentManagement #Productivity #TimeManagement #Delegation #Prioritization #BestPractices #Priority #Prioritization
