【CIC Global Construction Digitalisation Forum and Exhibition 2024】Cyberport Joined Forces with Community Companies to Promote Digital Transformation of Construction Industry As the flagship of digital technology in Hong Kong, Cyberport has been working with different organisations to promote digital transformation in line with the HKSAR Government's policies. Recently, Cyberport participated in the two-day “CIC International Construction Digitisation Forum and Exhibition 2024” (#GCDFE2024) organised by the Development Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government and the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and joined hands with seven Cyberport community companies to share their innovative solutions at the pavilion and explore the innovative applications in the construction industry with the industry players. In the Forum on Smart Project Delivery held on the first day of the event, Mr Will Yu, Project Director of Cyberport introduced the development of Cyberport's Phase 5 Expansion Project, in which a number of innovative technologies have been adopted to enhance the productivity, quality, sustainability and safety of the construction project. Later, Ir Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, together with Cyberport's community companies - Alpha AI, Innocorn AI, #TeamConcepts and R2C2 Limited - participated in the second day of the Forum on Future Construction to share with participants the trends in ConTech development and how to leverage on technology to enhance the industry's productivity and safety performance. In addition, four Cyberport community companies ( #AMBIT , AnlyVis Limited, Mapxus and Riverchain) also attended the sharing session to showcase their smart building solutions and technologies to address the industry's pain points. Currently, Cyberport has several community companies focusing on the development of smart building, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies. It's been 5 years since I've been at the The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture and it was awesome to catch up with some folks I haven't seen in years, or inversely, have worked with for years, but never met in person! Also met a lot of people, too many to mention, and look forward to building a lot more relationships and integrations. There is just something about meeting in person that makes a conference like this worth the time and to be honest, a bit less productivity or knocking off a couple items from the river that is my to do list. While the industry is abuzz about AI, tech, and transformation, at the core, the world of architecture is about the people. Tech of some sort may make our lives different, but it's the people that do the work, that make things happen, that come up with ideas, inspiration, and ultimately, deliver the projects. Transformative Spaces: Dornbracht x Technische Hochschule Augsburg University of Applied Sciences idea empowered by my favorite art-director Meiré und Meiré How much physical materiality is still needed in a digital world? The collaboration with the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences derived from this question. Dornbracht invited the students involved in the project to rediscover the bathroom as a transformative space. The result of this creative dialogue is an installation that, due to its combination of technology, nature, and customisation, turns away from static components and creates new sensory stimuli. With the help of movement, sound, or light, it offers an immersive experience in the bathroom.

Turner and ACS Group get "moving" The Spiral hosted this week's #IA Innovation Symposium in New York. The event brought together industry professionals across disciplines to explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in the design and construction of buildings and cities. Turner, together with the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, held the meeting whose central theme was "Exploring the Future of AI in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction Industry," where AI-driven productivity enhancements, the evolution of job roles, and AI's potential to surmount longstanding industry challenges were discussed.
