Mindset is KEY! If you have the experience, the skillset, but you're not willing to adapt, you're not motivated & you don't have the best attitude, it's probably not gonna work for long. Meanwhile, someone who may not have the best skillsets for the job, but is willing to learn, and is highly motivated and ambitious can make just about anything work. At least that's how it's been in my experience as a trainer & at one time, an employee who wore many hats with little to no prior experience! 🙋♀️ The takeaway here is NOT to turn your back on those with relevant skills & plenty of experience; the takeaway is to give the person who maybe doesn't have that "10 years of experience" on their resume or "proficient in XYZ" software a shot if they have a mindset that's compatible with the workplace & isn't afraid of a good ol' learning curve! Completely agree with this. Alignment of values, attitude, mindset and behaviour beats skills and experience hands down. Whilst you may need some experience and skills in a candidate - they can be grown, taught and developed it’s very difficult (if at all) to shift values and entrenched behaviors

Maybe its the autistic in me but I have never understood why at a job interview we ask people about what they have done, as its not what they have done in the past that we are asking of them now is it? Don’t look at what I have done- look at what I have the capacity to do #teambuilding #recruitment #skills #talent #futureachievements #nolookingback!
