Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) include a wide range of chemicals used in many products and materials today. These VOCs are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids, and many are known to have potential adverse health effects for anyone exposed to long-term or elevated levels of these compounds. Common sources include paints, paint strippers/solvents, wood preservatives, aerosol sprays, cleaning supplies, disinfectants/pesticides, air fresheners, stored fuels and automotive products, hobby supplies, dry-cleaned clothing, building materials/furnishings, and glues/adhesives. LA Testing provides VOC Testing to identify potential contaminants. You've heard of PFAS as "Forever Chemicals" and they've gained attention for the environmental damage they can cause. But, they also serve some good purposes. PFAS are important because they have been widely used in industry and manufacturing due to their unique chemical properties; properties that make them heat-resistant, able to repel water, and close to indestructible. PFAS compounds have been used in many applications such as non-stick cookware, stain repellent clothes, food contact materials, detergents, cleaning products, and fire-fighting foams. #Chemetrix #PFAS #ForeverChemicals #AnalyticalInstruments #Laboratory #ScientificResearch

Poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been making our lives easier and less messy, but at a substantial cost. These 'forever chemicals' can accumulate within the human body and the environment, with studies suggesting they pose a risk to public health. Unfortunately, PFAS are almost impossible to avoid. They are present in everyday products, ranging from fire-fighting foam, nonstick cookware, food packaging, and waterproof and stain-resistant clothing, to cleaning products, paints, and much more. The news that the European Union is restricting PFHxA, its salts and related substances from April 2026 onwards, is a significant milestone in the protection of our health and the environment from these forever chemicals. Biosynth are always up to date on the latest changes and methods allowing us to always delivery our products to our customers with the highest quality and efficiency. www.biosynth.com Read our slider to discover more about PFAS, the risks they pose and how you can reduce your exposure to forever chemicals. #PFASaction_EU #PFAS #PFHxA #ChemicalSafetyEU

A recent study on Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds has revealed that chemicals like Phthalates in the air can penetrate into our skin and enter into the bloodstream even without an open wound. Phthalates are used as plasticizers added to products to make them softer and more flexible and are commonly found in almost every household. If you’re concerned about the pollutants in your indoor air, get an air test to identify the right solutions. #VOCs #indoorairquality #airpollution

Prioritize thorough component cleaning before lubrication! When resources are limited cleaning is often neglected. If you apply lubricant to a contaminated surface, the lubricating film won’t adhere and will disappear quickly. In applications exposed to the environment, the accumulation of grime or corrosion can lead to additional issues. Either the lubricant won’t penetrate the necessary areas, such as the pins and bushes of chains, or it will create an abrasive paste, acting like sandpaper rather than a lubricant. Even with limited resources, cleaning components prior to lubrication remains crucial! Ultimately, it will save you time and costs. Interflon cleaners are environmentally friendly and effective, owing to their enzymatic biological action. These cleaners hold ecological certifications and are approved for use in food processing and pharmaceutical plants. They are safe to use and can be applied without the need for personal protective equipment. Learn more about our cleaners! https://lnkd.in/gkfVrR8M Sales-us@interflon.com 1-877-346-5823

Understanding the difference between distilled water and deionized water is crucial: Distilled water: - Impurities removed through distillation. - Removes most bacteria and viruses, leaving some minerals. - More expensive due to a longer production process. - Neutral pH, tasteless, and odorless. - Commonly used in laboratories, medical equipment sterilization, automotive batteries, steam irons, and beverage production. Deionized water: - Produced by running water through electrically charged resins. - Removes minerals but not bacteria or viruses. - The deionization process is quick and efficient.and therefore, deionized water is cheaper. - Extremely low electrical conductivity due to ion removal. - Variable pH slightly acidic or basic. - May have slightly taste or odour depending on the source. -Frequently used in electronics manufacturing, cooling systems, laboratory use, automotive processes, pharmaceutical applications. A Distilled and Deionized water are in many cases interchangeable, although double distilled water should be used if an extremely pure form of water is needed. Can we drink distilled or deionized water? Some people do prefer to drink distilled water, but it lacks the minerals found in both tap and spring water and these minerals have both taste and health benefits. However, deionized water should not be consumed as its highly aggressive properties means it causes adverse health effects according to World Health Organization. In addition deionized water still contains bacteria and viruses, not things generally you want to put in your body.
