It was a privilege to participate in this seminar. My deepest gratitude to Giorgio Delgrosso, Solange Slack, John Barker and Maria Milagros Santamaria (Megatex.tech, MMLAW) for coordinating the program and serving as the main speaker brilliantly.
I appreciated the mix of hands-on and conceptual insights from the guest speakers: Guilherme Lima (Drexfy) on how SMEs can leverage tokenization, André Soares Campos (Sogrape) on the Metaverse, Rodolfo Neirotti (dVIN) on DAOs, and Mike Tango Bravo (OpenVino/Costaflores) on blockchain application in wineries (the Option B workshop). Also, Michael Paul Kramer on wine fraud and tokenization mentioned: “Physical objects will have their digital counterpart by 2034.” This is food for the mind.
"A promising innovation lies in the potential of blockchain and Web3 applications to gather environmental data. This can be achieved by integrating IoT, sensors, satellites, and drones (precision viticulture). Traceability, as a result, becomes a major advancement for producers and grape growers, revolutionizing their practices."
Finally, I appreciate the neutral, impartial organization like the OIV to take the lead in debating hot topics such as new technologies. This approach helps stakeholders gain an unbiased perspective on the situation. With this topic, it is vital to avoid technology push or favouring one solution over another, allowing decision-makers to explore possible avenues without taking sides.

Last week I attended the course: "Blockchain applied to the vine and wine sector" promoted by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine It was quite interesting and insightful! 🔗 🍷
Thanks to the brilliant speakers we dived deep into the transformative potential of Blockchain and Web3 for the wine industry.
By using blockchain technology wineries can significantly benefit by enhancing transparency, traceability and trust throught the supply chain.
With Blockchain immutable records, it becomes much more difficult to introduce counterfeit wines into the market. (protecting both consumers and producers from fraud)
Of course there are still some barriers to overcome (Rigid regulations) but if we apply this technology it can benefit all the people involved.
Overall, blockchain technology can revolutionize the wine industry by ensuring product authenticity, improving quality control, and building stronger consumer trust.
