Helping manufacturers and distributors find and hire professional and executive talent || Founder || Executive Recruiter
A tale of two manufacturers. Both had been struggling to fill a key role for their organizations. Our team brought them each strong candidates who were selected to interview. In both instances, one of their candidates had an unfortunate event *genuinely* beyond their control, that affected their ability to interview as scheduled. Company A’s response: “No problem, please pass along my well wishes and we’ll reschedule when they’re ready.” Company B’s response: “Please let them know they’re no longer being considered.” We’re no longer working with one of the companies; we’ll bend over backwards for the other. Bottom line: If I wouldn’t want any of my brothers working at your company, I’m not going to try and convince someone else to work for you; but if I’d consider quitting my own job just for the chance to work with you, you’d *better believe* we’re talking you up to our candidates!! The job market simply sucks right now, but that is not the case for each employer or here at Ziegler. I was able to extend over 10 offers this week! 4 of those applicants had been impacted by lay-offs or reduced work schedules. I could tell some of those applicants simply felt defeated by what had happed to them or they had not interviewed in years, as their nerves took over in the interview. The thing is they are all human. Maybe their skills and abilities did not come across the best on their resume or in their interview, but ultimately, we saw their potential and they also saw potential in Ziegler. We are so exited for what all of them can bring to team Ziegler! Cheers to the new hires we will soon have at #teamziegler! #hiring #recruitment #zieglercat

Your marketing should be a revenue maker—not a revenue taker. Marketing is Sales. Period. | CEO @ Venveo | Brand Champion & Strategy Expert for highly complex B2B industries
If you’re an executive in the building materials industry, chances are you’ve faced a ton of challenges when it comes to hiring. Whether it’s reviewing resumes, conducting interviews or calling references, let’s face it – hiring is a time-consuming process. And when it’s done wrong, your entire company suffers. No one knows this better than Mark Barnard, CEO of SnapDragon Associates, LLC. Mark founded SnapDragon 20 years ago when a conversation with his colleague helped him realize the lack of industry-focused recruiters that “get it.” As someone with years of experience in the building materials industry, there was no one better fit to identify and deliver the Building Materials Industry's top talent than Mark. One of the best parts of my conversation with Mark is his balanced view of the hiring process from the company side and the candidate side. He shares his unique approach to ensure both the candidate and the company are looking for the same thing. This is a must-listen for any executive who is tired of wasting time and resources on the wrong hires.
