Very interesting insights on how creative and production teams walk side by side in #gameproduction. A partnership between these roles (and teams!) can foster more transparency and smooth the pipeline eliminating unnecessary friction in production. A perfect example mentioned by Building Better Games is the scope negotiation. Accepting that as a checkpoint during the process can actually create a more realistic and flexible approach on the required value for deliveries, as opposed to fixating on a rigid plan.

This is sooo smart: Tubi has announced the creation of Stubios, ‘a fan-fueled entertainment platform’ where creators rally their online communities to help them get their dream TV show or movie funded and distributed by Tubi, with creative help from Issa Rae. Tubi is currently conducting a contest where creators AKA ‘Stubiorunners’ can apply to their Stubio program and use fan support to help get their project greenlit. Once the series or movie is made, the Stubiorunner receives an Executive Producer credit and is paid a flat fee for their original IP and work on the project. The project is made and then distributed and promoted on the platform. When viewership for the completed program passes a certain threshold of engagement, the Stubiorunner automatically receives a greenlight for their next project, so this will nurture long-term creative relationships between Stubiorunners and Tubi. What a cool way to galvanize the existing creator community on short-form social and give them a different platform to stretch their creativity and talent! #tubi #creatoreconomy
