As a resident interested in pain medicine, I've been looking at resources to broaden my knowledge. Pain rounds hosted by Shravani Durbhakula, MD, MPH, MBA is an invaluable tool. There are on demand videos with step-by-step instructions that go into detail on various pain procedures on topics such as neuromodulation. This learning tool also goes into depth about lead-placement, current advances in spinal cord stimulation, and how to advance your surgical skills. I know personally, as someone early on in their training, the case-based scenarios have been vital to me for breaking down every aspect of the patient encounter so I can take away key-learning points and apply them. I was looking through images from demonstrations of the MILabs preclinical high-resolution CT and came across this one. It’s a ‘rice fish’, measuring just a few centimeters, imaged in the ex-vivo sample holder. The researchers, from a museum in Germany, have a wide variety of specimens and needed a flexible CT system, with an array of different beds, that could handle very high-resolution imaging of mites and insects, as well as larger specimens up to 5Kg. They affectionately refer to one of the beds as the ‘Forelle’ or ‘Trout’ bed! #MILabs #CT #preclinical #imaging #ricefish #trout

The Advanced Course (type B) will deal with the details of the assessment, the proper terminology and technique, as well as with the application of individual developmental trajectories. Main topics of lectures, demonstrations and exercises are: • The ontogeny of spontaneous motor activity; • Normal and abnormal GMs from birth to 20 weeks post-term; • Practical instructions for recording and assessment of GMs; • GMs and follow-up: individual developmental trajectories and their predictive power for later neurological impairments. The Advanced Course B will provide specific training on detailed scoring of both the Motor Optimality Score (MOS) during the fidgety period and General Movements Optimality Score (GMOS) during the writhing period.
