Enhancing Black Soldier Fly Larvae Protein Extraction with our Circular Dichroism instrument 🦟 This research developed an ultrasound-assisted alkaline method to extract protein from black soldier fly larvae (BSFLP), comparing its effects with those of the conventional hot alkali method. Ultrasound-assisted extraction significantly increased the extraction ratio of BSFLP while meeting human amino acid requirements proposed by the FAO in 2013. Moreover, it enhanced in vitro protein digestibility and preserved the structural integrity of BSFLP, resulting in a more ordered secondary structure and porous surface morphology. Excited to share that my first research paper, exploring the effects of gelatin extraction methods and protease types on the functional properties of tilapia scale gelatin hydrolysates (TSGH), has been published.🌟 Our findings reveal that the hydrolysis process significantly alters the emulsification stability and antioxidant properties of TSGH, with acid protease hydrolysate showing superior emulsification stability and alkaline protease hydrolysate topping the antioxidant chart.🌱 The study highlights the potential of biological wastes like tilapia scales for high-value utilization, with base-pretreated gelatin extracts demonstrating superior antioxidant properties.🌊 A step forward in sustainable resource management and a testament to the versatility of enzymatic processing.🍽 Yuanyuan Feng, Hexiang Xie, Kefan Ouyang, Qiang Zhao https://lnkd.in/gA74iTvF #FirstPaperPublished #FoodScience #BiowasteUtilization
