IT FINALLY CAME OUT!! Now out in AAPG Bulletin: my newest paper continuing to fill in the gaps on the Pettet Formation, titled "Lithologic controls on reservoir quality and production trends in the Pettet Formation, Rusk County, East Texas". This one takes a nuanced look at how the rocks really do control production here. My detailed mapping of discreet shoal intervals in the Pettet Fm, when overlain with production numbers sourced by Eric Radjef, highlights that even within this formation, certain shoal intervals are better and more reliable producers than others. Some petrography and PnP analysis gives us some hints as to why.
