A marketing channel is a group of people, organizations, and actions that work together to move products from production to consumption. It includes the people, organizations, and activities that make goods and services available to consumers for their use and enjoyment. For physical products, there are 4 basic types of marketing channels: Direct selling:where products are marketed and sold directly to consumers without a fixed retail location Selling through intermediaries: where products are manufactured at the point of origin and sold to customers by downstream intermediaries such as agents, brokers, wholesalers and retail stores. Dual distribution: where manufacturers combine multiple types of channels to sell products to the end-user. This could mean that the manufacturer sells directly to customers and also does business with wholesalers and retailers who sell to customers through their own distribution networks. Reverse marketing: where products move from the customer back to the manufacturer. The Codd-neck bottle, named after its inventor Hiram Codd who patented it in 1872, was specially designed for lemonade and fizzy beverages. Among them, the chicken sales revenue was 1.161 billion yuan, an increase of 51.98%, down 3.93%; The sales revenue of deep-processed meat products was 781 million yuan, an increase of 8.37% year-on-year and 10.96% quarter-on-quarter.

While the company realises maximum revenue from selling fuel, it encourages customers to buy their brand of lubricants. A shoe shop selling socks is cross selling. Something interesting can be observed in grocery shops- scissors being displayed near grocery shelves. With stricter norms about plastic being in force, brands have created alternate packaging in aluminum foil. Shop keepers realised that home makers will need a scissor to neatly cut open the packaging, and so started dangling scissors packs randomly near the grocery shelves. Cross selling increases customer loyalty(a subtle realisation that the shop is thinking about the buyer) and customer relationship.
