In conversation with Rakhee Chhabria from 'Teachers Help Teachers' as we delve into the exploration of India's educational landscape. Rethinking the conventional perspective that education is primarily about acquiring degrees and certificates, it is essential to reassess the importance of skill-building, problem-solving, and critical thinking as indispensable components in today's educational landscape. #reimaginingindianeducation https://lnkd.in/d6TyM_xn

Happy Teachers' Day to all the amazing educators celebrating today in India and across the world! As we grow and evolve throughout our lives, we often forget the significance of Teachers' Day. We enthusiastically celebrate it in our childhood and school days, drawing inspiration and joy from our teachers and mentors. However, as we transition into adulthood, attending college and entering the workforce, our enthusiasm for Teachers' Day seems to wane. But here's the thing: we always have a teacher in our lives, at every stage and age. Whether it's a mentor, a colleague, or even a family member, there's always someone teaching us valuable lessons and guiding us towards growth. Let's recognize and appreciate these teachers, regardless of their age or ours. Let's embrace the mutual respect that comes with learning and growth. After all, a teacher can be of any age, and a student can be of any age too. There's no room for ego in the pursuit of knowledge. So, let's continue to celebrate Teachers' Day with the same zeal and enthusiasm as we did in our childhood. Let's show our appreciation for those who have shaped us and continue to inspire us. And most importantly, let's never stop learning and growing, for that is the greatest tribute we can pay to our teachers. #Education #LearningAndDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelopment #Mentorship #Coaching #TeachingAndLearning

There are 1 lakh teachers being added in India every year, but only 30% of them are able to create impact. This one thing differentiates them from the rest... They approach every academic year differently. Every year, some students pass to the next class; a few remain in the same; books get changed; and the syllabus too. When everything changes, you have to treat each year differently. As an educator, each year should be a fresh start for you, where you ensure to reinvent yourself and make a lasting impact on the lives of your students. But how can you ensure that this year is truly different? The answer lies in being open to change and treating each academic year as a unique opportunity to grow, both as a teacher and as a human being. Effective pedagogy is crucial for successful learning outcomes. You need to understand students' needs and foster a supportive learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential. Here are 3 strategies that will help you achieve this: Embrace vulnerability: By sharing your struggles and your triumphs, you not only humanize yourself, but you also inspire your students to embrace their own imperfections. Try new teaching methods: The world is constantly evolving, and so must our approach to education. Incorporate technology into your lessons or use project-based learning. Try to help your students better understand everything. Also, be open to new subjects like mental health, happiness, entrepreneurship, etc. Listen to your students: Your students are not mere vessels to be filled with knowledge; they could have unique perspectives and experiences. Take the time to listen to them. By doing so, you create an environment where learning is not just a one-way street but a collaborative journey. Let's commit to being lifelong learners ourselves, continually seeking new ways to inspire and engage our students. After all, when we open our minds to the possibilities of each new year, we open the doors to a world of endless learning for our students. #education #newacademicyear #Education #Teaching #NewAcademicYear #EffectivePedagogy #LifelongLearning #InnovativeTeaching #StudentEngagement #TeacherGrowth

Education cascades beyond the individual; it becomes a shared treasure. This is not mere sentiment but a tangible shift—when first-generation learners return home from university, they often become educators to their families. Consider the profound transfer of knowledge when a child teaches a parent. It isn't just about imparting lessons; it's about reversing roles and reshaping dynamics, enriching the family's intellectual foundation. Why is this exchange vital? It transforms education into a collective asset, advancing the entire family unit. Imagine a future where every household's wisdom compounds across generations. Here, higher education doesn't just elevate students; it uplifts communities. Dig deeper, and you’ll find this is not just familial growth—it's societal evolution. Short steps, deep impact. #EducateToElevate #FamilyLearning #GenerationalWisdom #CommunityGrowth Teach For India Azim Premji University #SharedKnowledge

Some of us get ‘lucky’! Because when the student is ready, the teacher appears. And I was one of those ‘lucky’ few who had teachers invested in knowledge, wanting to inspire and guide. India celebrates Teacher’s Day tomorrow. But what does it mean to teach? Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is about making one deliberate. It is the art of assisting discovery. HOW to think is more significant in ‘education’ than what to think. The greatest asset of a teacher is the one who keeps learning. Learning requires actual work. And learning can only happen when one is ready to injure one’s self-importance. Because to learn is to be openminded. To have the courage to accept that one doesn’t know everything. To learn is to change. Are you a learner? #emotionalmuscle #teachersday #learn #teach #educate #knowledge #teaching #education #inspire #guide

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿? Think back to a teacher who truly made a difference in your life. What set them apart? For me, it was my university professor Krishnaiah Sir, a small man with a big heart who believed in us more than we believed in ourselves. He didn’t just teach subjects; he guided us through life's challenges, helping us build the resilience we needed to thrive beyond the classroom. In today’s world, building life skills is more important than ever. Education shouldn’t just be about grades; it should prepare students to thrive in the real world. Unfortunately, the rise in student suicides in India is alarming. This is often attributed to peer pressure, competitive academic environments, overwhelming expectations, and poor coping mechanisms. This highlights the need for educators to go beyond academics. By teaching resilience and emotional intelligence, and fostering open communication, teachers can create safe spaces where students feel free to express themselves without fear of judgment. A great teacher doesn’t just impart knowledge; they equip students with the tools to navigate life’s challenges. 𝗜’𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿? As parents and leaders, we also play an important role alongside formal educators in shaping not just minds, but lives. Teachers' Day in India is celebrated on September 5 to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a distinguished scholar and former President of India. “It is education that makes us human, and if it doesn’t, we need to look into the causes. It is educationists who help us in this effort.” the bustling streets of India, where the echoes of school bells blend with the ambitions of its youth, education often becomes a race rather than a journey. The pressure to excel in exams often overshadows the essence of learning, turning the quest for knowledge into a battleground of stress. But imagine an education system that prioritizes understanding over memorization, curiosity over grades, and well-being over rankings. A system where teachers are mentors, classrooms are sanctuaries of thought, and every lesson is a step towards self-discovery. Let’s advocate for an educational reform that nurtures minds and souls, making learning a celebration of life’s endless mysteries. Together, we can shift the paradigm from stress to enlightenment, crafting a future where education truly makes us human. Share your thoughts on how we can create a stress-free educational environment. Shaik Shabbeer Ali #StressFreeLearning #FutureOfEducation
