975 ha Double Beach Estate Geraldton Western Australia for sale through RWC WA Ray White’s Brett Wilkins and Andrew Woodley-Page offer Double Beach Estate, one of Western Australia’s last mega land holdings for sale, a 975-hectare coastal property boasting 3.5 kilometres of frontage to the Indian Ocean and another 3.5 kilometres to the Greenough River. Mr Brett Wilkins describes the estate as a "unique and truly world-class coastal land holding with elevated sweeping ocean views, easy access to pristine beaches, and extensive frontage to the picturesque Greenough River." If fully developed, Double Beach Estate could significantly increase Geraldton’s population. The master plan's 14,000 proposed lots could potentially house 35,000 people, nearly doubling the current population of just over 40,000. 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒔. 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝑮𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑻. Back in 2009 I was the QLD Government rep on the construction of the Brisbane Valley Railtrail (BVRT) (148km). From that project I got seriously enamoured with railtrails. I have the deepest admiration for the surveyors that laid these out through the Australian bush back in the 1800's. How they managed to keep a 1:30 grade or better is beyond me. And the crews that constructed them, amazing work. We build a tunnel nowdays and we celebrate it, but imagine what these guys did. I have ridden and run some of Australia's best. The Victorian High Country Railtrail (150km), the Gippsland Railtrail (94km), the Lilydale to Warburton rail trail (50km), the BVRT. Railtrails are a big thing. There is a large cohort of Australians that travel around the country doing them. The average spend is $90 per day, per head. People stay in the small towns along the route, they eat at local cafes. A number of businesses start up just for trail visitors. And like this video below, event companies start runs on them. There is one on the BVRT, one on the Lilydale line, and one to come to the newly opened Tweed Valley Railtrail. As you can tell, I love them, especially when the land owner leaves the rail "furniture" on site, like this one. And, so, this is another example of the dynamic nature of our industry. Railtrails fit nicely into the parks and recreation industry. Check out the tunnel in the video, amazing. #railtrails #fitness #running #recreation
