Every compassionate choice you make has an impact – even if you don’t see it. 🦊 An innocent fox was rescued after being spotted with plastic trash around their neck. Without aid, the fox may have been at risk of starving to death. Beachgoers across Lincolnshire urged not to litter when heading to the seaside It comes as the marine conservation charity said 9 out of 10 beach litter items are plastic, such as bottles, cans and lids. Holidaymakers across the Lincolnshire Coast are being urged to re-use plastics to reduce waste and protect the environment this summer. It's as the marine conservation charity's found litter such as inflatables, bottles and cans were found on almost all UK beaches last year. Lianne Havell, runs the Sutton on Sea beachcare clean up and says plastic pollution is a major threat to our ocean: "Last year in the first couple of days of August we cleared just three bags of rubbish. This year it's been 13. "So there's been one heck of an increase. There's plenty of bins. "Please come and enjoy the coast - but remove your rubbish to a bin" Leaving litter it can be a huge threat to wildlife: Lianne says: "It can cause all sorts of problems if it's not tidied. "We've seen seabirds picking up wipes and things off the beach to chew, We don't want to see strangled sealife. We don't want to see injured mammals. "The more we can keep litter off the beach - it's got to be a good thing". #waste #litter #flytipping #litterpick #wasteenforcement #beach #wildlife #community #cleanup #environment #flytip #plastic #lincolnshire

Balancing economic growth and environmental protection is a complex and challenging issue that requires an integrated approach. There is no single or simple solution, but possibly a combination of policies, technologies, and behavioral changes that can help strike the desired harmony. Few suggested steps each of us can practice to make a difference: 1. Ditch the plastic and switch to reuse. 2. Conserve species facing extinction. 3. Choose organic. 4. Use water wisely. 5. Drive green. 6. Green up your home. 7. Boycott products that endanger wildlife. #sustainablegrowth #BetterFuture #SaferWorld

What's on the blog 📖 Everything that can be found in nature is unique. There are no two plants, animals (or people!) that are exactly the same. All of our natural drinking straws are therefore one of a kind, and there is something special about that 💚 https://lnkd.in/eGVv56ay #blog #ecogreenstraws #naturaldrinkingstraws

Happy Earth Day from Aquatic Life Institute! 🌎 This year's #EarthDay theme is Planet vs. Plastics. Did you know that ghost gear (discarded, lost, or abandoned fishing gear) makes up approximately 10% of global ocean plastic pollution? It is the biggest contributor to large plastic pollution in our waters. By prioritizing #AnimalWelfare in #CaptureFisheries, we address concerns around destructive fishing gear and harmful fishing methods. A focus on animal welfare will benefit animals, the environment, and communities. Join us in safeguarding our oceans and advocating for less destructive practices in the #seafood industry. Learn more about #GhostGear and #plastic pollution in our article with World Federation for Animals in the International Institute for Sustainable Development SDG Knowledge Hub: https://lnkd.in/dsuWriwt #EarthDay2024

New Study Confirms Forest Stewardship Council -Certified Forests Help Wildlife Thrive in the Congo Basin 🌳 Encouraging developments emerge for critically endangered species such as gorillas and elephants in the Congo Basin, as a recent study highlights an increased presence of large mammals in Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified forests in Gabon and the Republic of Congo compared to their non-certified counterparts. This underscores the significance of FSC-certified forest concessions, where logging is sustainably managed, in safeguarding wildlife. The research, led by Utrecht University with support from WWF and the Wildlife Conservation Society, was published in Nature on April 10, 2024 👉🏼 https://buff.ly/3vTm2xq #foreststewardshipcouncil #fsc #forests #wwf #worldlifefund #forestmanagement #sustainable #sustainableforests
