Last night, my oldest son and I attended a talk by Neil deGrasse Tyson on, “The Search for Life in the Universe.” The best part was that my son, who recently discovered an interest in physics (thanks to amazing teachers at his high school), loved it! The second best part was for me - specifically, the opportunity to show him the incredible work my colleagues have done in support of ALL the missions Tyson highlighted during his lecture (and, several more that he did not mention). Links to some of those stories below. 2025 will be an exciting year for Ansys in the #space domain! 👀 🛰️ JWST: https://lnkd.in/gvaVSAMg ☄️ OSIRIS-REx: https://lnkd.in/eBNXghzG 🛰️☄️ DART: https://lnkd.in/eFHRu4-M 🌖 Artemis Program: https://lnkd.in/e6SCeWQr

"At this point, there's almost nothing that we can't simulate, which is very valuable for space applications because the harsh space environment is hard to replicate in physical testing when that's being done on Earth. It’s pulling everybody forward at the same time. And James Webb is a great example of how the community really came together, both nationally in the U.S., but also globally."— Kevin Flood, Ansys President of Government Initiatives
The James Webb Telescope is pushing the envelope for what's possible and delivering images of space unlike any we've seen before. Ensuring its success is no easy feat. That's where simulation comes in. 🛰️ "At this point, there's almost nothing that we can't simulate, which is very valuable for space applications because the harsh space environment is hard to replicate in physical testing when that's being done on Earth." — Kevin Flood, Ansys President of Government Initiatives Click the link to learn more about the James Webb Telescope and how the engineering behind it not only helps us see into the deepest parts of space but also improves LASIK eye surgery.
