#Smallbusiness owners, be sure to check out this post from SCORE Mentors. A few highlights from the article: ...“Building Bridges: Bringing Together Women In Business.” The intent of the theme, chapter chair Cheryl Ancell said, was to increase awareness of the opportunities, collaboration, friendships, partnerships and insights that can come from meeting new people. ...Serquis of Cafecito agreed, adding that one of her biggest takeaways from the conference was to be optimistic and to uphold the potential of vulnerability and community. #EntrepreneurLife #BusinessGrowth #Motivation #Inspiration #success #entrepreneurship #entrepreneur #strategy

If you're planning something for International Women's Day, please consider the following: - Make sure you feed people. I've been to too many (paid for) IWD breakfasts and been given nothing more than a snack. Women, too, like to eat. In fact, some of us even start the day that way! We're way too far beyond the 90s where our delicate social graces required us to "order the salad". Say it with me: PROTEIN! [or don't make us pay $60+ for a 'breakfast' that we'll just have to supplement by buying (second) breakfast for afterwards] - It's a real bummer spending the event just being told all the issues that we're already aware of. We KNOW, we're women, we live it. The solution here is probably a little more detailed, but the extent of all the issues women face in the workplace etc could better be saved for events with more men in the audience [though thank you to those men who do turn up to these events to celebrate women too]. For women-focused events, what about: More celebration of women who are doing the damn things, so then you're highlighting the issue but FOCUSING on the 'YAY' part? Honestly, just those two things. We want to feel acknowledged, recognised and, yes, maybe even a little celebrated for our achievements and contributions. Not bummed out and hangry 🙃
